actually thats only if you try and distill it into moonshine and fuck it up. there are no bacteria that can grow in beer that are fatal. The worst you can get in there is basically equivilent to bread mold. Beer yeast consume sugar and produce ethanol, which is the alchohol that gets you drunk, but doesnt do anything bad to you (unless of course you abuse it like mad). If you DISTILL the beer though (aiming to make a really really disgusting beverage sort of like..well sort of like shit. my brothers housemates whore chem majors tried it, turned out badly) you can end up with methanol in your shit if you fuck up. methanol is what blinds/kills you. With homebrew, if you make the smallest mistake all that'll happen is itll taste like shit.
