OK, im almosyt positive ill get totally ripped on for this, because, thats well, what people do here....but anyways, i was getting bored witht he looks of my good ol skogens( the viking ship ones) so one day i decided, 'HEY, why not chrome them out???' So i went to walmart and bought some chrome spray paint, and painted the top half of my skis chrome! BUT, first i taped off the LINE graphic really well, so it looks alkmost like a natural graphic at first glnace! It looked so cool, that my buddy did the same to his Blue 1080s, only he painted one one the top red, and the other on the bottom red, (kinda like the 720s of that year??) and he also taped off the salomon graphic. They both look pretty badass, and itll prolly only last about 3 times ksiing before its all fucked up, it look badass right now. Also, since mine are chrome, IM NOW RIDIN ON CHROME 36s!!! YEA YEA

i started making my own graphics on my skis this year. I made some cool stencils and then air brushed my skis till they were they way I wanted. looked super cool, then melted on some ski saver (acts as a top sheet) and bam brand new spankin skis. My old candides are jet black and got skulls on the tips and tail and my older candides are brown and say da shit on em in yellow. old e writing to. then my new scratches are blue and green with the chick on em still. I just changed the topsheet colors so the black was blue and the orange was green. but whats great about all of this is I pass art 30 with an 80 for doin shit I wanted to do. She made the rest of the class do sketchbooks and I got to do this. fauckers.

ya... they also make a chrome-illusion paint.. like the really expenisive shit that guys put on there cars... it comes in a cheep spray paint.... thatd look fucking sweet on skis to... i might try that next year....

haha damn $20 a can, the stuff i bought at wal mart was like $4, and it looks pretty chromy to me..

no, he just painted to topcoat, but its paitned like the 720s, picture both the skis next to each other, the top of the left 1080, is red, while the top of the right 1080, is blue, and the same with the bottoms of the skis (behind the binding...)

that sound sweet, how do you air brush it or put ski saver (whatever that is) on it? I wanna do it to some old skis but i don't want it to come right off and look ugly...

ski saver is like thick tape your local ski shop will most likely have it. after I just took the heat gun and kinda melted it down onto the ski. Its kinda bulky, but after you mold it on its fine. and the air brush is simple is like using a felt pen, it feels like your drawing with a gun.

I dont think you have to literaly melt the ski saver on like wax. you just hit the edges with a heat gun. you dont even have to do that and it works a lot better than packaging tape.
