i wanna take some 2x4s and put coping on the sides for edges, then sand the tip and tail so the snow goes under, and drill my old bindings onto them, they would be really cool

 
No...they wouldn't...that's a dumb idea, it won't work at all. You'll go nowhere. Just buy some 20$ skis at a secondhand place or ski swap.

1. They won't move in snow because the bases are...um...wood.

2. Why would you take the time to do that when you could get extremely cheap skis that would work properly and weight half as much

3. What would the point of edges be, you can't turn the damn things if you can't move

that wotn work at all..... i did this yesterday tho and it worked.. i took some old rossi vipers cut the ends off and bent them up with a heat torch.... now u got some twin tips with edges and actual bases... then mount shitty bindings exactly in the middle of the ski and u got sum garbage twin tips... enjoy

 
the edges would allow u to stop. it would be like an old pair of skis except really slow. u would have to slide turns.

 
my shop has used skis for 20 bucks

im tryen to put ski bindings onto a snowboard, so i can snowboard with my ski boots on. or maybe do a monoboard...hmm...

 
at any major store they probably have old pairs of straight skis.....get some 190s, turn them into twins, and if you can slide rails with a pair of skis that are 50mm under your foot you can slide anything

did any of you see the ad for next months issue of powder (or freeze, or freeskier.. i dont know) but it was at the back of the mag, and it hade a pic from below, as this guy launched a cliff and he was riding snowboards like skis, one snowboard on each foot. it was crazy looking. somebody on here needs to do that and tell us about it.

^^Haha you sure they weren't the Prophets? They look like snowboards. Anyways, to the other guy, you could just bust the brakes off or something...but if you want skiboard bindings you can get cheap ones from skiboardsonline.com.

Yeah it's done in focused it's funny as he's big mountain skiing on these big arse planks type things
