my friend (akdylan) broke his leg yesterday in 7 different places

he is now out for the entire season most likely, this is terrible

woah hey c'mon now, u cant just make a thread like this and not give us any background info, 7 places is a lot of places to break your leg ns needs to hear this story, either way i hope he has a healthy and fast recovery so he can atleast ski the last little bit of the season

it was really stupid my friend has this canoe at his house and sometimes during ski season we flip it over and use it as sort of a box cause it slides well

and they put olive oil on the canoe to make it slide better and were sliding it with shoes having a good time when my friend runs into and jumps really high cause thats just the way he is and he lands at like the bottom and lands funny and it snapped his leg and so he has 2 clean breaks and 5 hairline fractures

it really sucks for him cause this was gonna be a real good season for him he is a freshman now and he was getting awhole bunch of tricks down at our camp and everything

basically it sucks alot for him and our little group cause we always skiied with him

Yeeesh....

+++ vibes to him, i hope he feels better soon. Maybe he will make a speedy recovery and catch the end of the season, or at least be back for summer. Get well soon.

++++++++++++ vibes for sure man.

iv broken my leg prety bad before aswel and yeah it sucks.

but yeah +vibes and good luck to him

canoe jib...might be the most badass thing ever

can you post some pics?

i hope you friend gets better, sux that hes missing out on ski season

update

he called me from hospital today and he is for sure missing the entire season and is in a wheelchair for possibly 5 months

if he gets surgey he might not be able to ski again so hes trying to avoid that

he will also have to be homeschooled for awhile maybe

im going to visit him soon so we will see how he is

Oh man... thats super rough...

+++++++Vibes!

Just be a good friend, and go see him a lot! It helps recovery soo much to have good people hanging around!

shit that suckss.i wouldnt know what id too if that happened to me. if be so depresseddd. lol.

+++ vibessss

+++++ Vibes.

I've had two season enders, busted leg both times, while skiing. Pretty much the shittiest thing that can happen to a skier........

talk to the adaptive ski people at your local hill, mabye get him out shredding on a sit ski for a day or two?

++++ vibes, i just broke my foot and its the 6th cunsecutive broken bone in the past 6 years it sucks i know what it feels like to be told you cant ski

+++vibes, tell him to take it easy, it's better to be really chill and sit on your ass for a year than to never be able to ski again, he wouldn't want to re-injure or stress it at all
good luck to him, i hope he makes a full recovery
i had to miss half of the season 2 years ago for a laceration on my leg and it was tough

he should get a hold of some fairy dust to heal it instantly.

or ski on one backecountry ski with a binding that u can click into with a cast lol

yeah....if he ever wants to fully recover he should NOT think like that, it will cause him to do something stupid and re-injure his leg, possibly making him never able to ski again
i know it was a joke but that's what he wants to avoid

sorry to hear about your friend hope he gets better...

but olive oil? dam i woul dnever of thought of that + karma for olive oil

damn that sucks. hopefully it itsn't so bad that he needs surgery.

I was gonna agree that it was pretty ghetto having a canoe jib, but olive oil? that shits expensive!

maybe you could get him up a mountain someone and take him down in the canoe?

Mad ++++ vibes man

I've been out for the entire past two seasons with ACL tears and will probably only be skiing a little bit, really conservatively this winter so I kinda feel where you're coming from. Stay strong and you'll pull through it. I know it's really hard to think positively, but my experience has opened up new avenues for me. I just got done with a 2500 mile through-hike, something I'd never even considered before missing the last two seasons.

that must of felt like dynomite going off in his shoes

wow, but really man, that sucks. I wouldn't wish that on any skiier, ever.
