Make Helly Great Again

Pollard made a lot of great product with Helly around the 2003 time frame. Loved a lot of the outerwear from them at this time.

This video called "HAPPY HAPPY" was a promo video that came out around the same time that I remember getting with the outerwear that I bought.

The resort I worked at has a lot of their employees kitted in Helly Hansen gear. Especially ski school and Ski Patrol.

And even cooler for the fisherman out there, some of our snowmaking gear is Grundéns

Thanks for sharing that. Are some of those shot repeated from IDEA or one of those movies? i remember seeing those switch landings and all those zero spins back in the day. GOAT status for sure. Such a great era of skiing.

Fishermen used to get down with h/h, dunno if they still do

95% of the commercial fishermen where I live wear Grundens. HH pretty popular with sailors.

Never thought i would see grundens on NS. im a pelagic fisherman and use grundéns every day, some of thier products are designed in my hometown in Sweden, cool to know you use them in resorts!

helly is so nice all the little racer kids i coach have full helly kits to match their parents.

The rowing club also has helly suits for cox‘s when it’s cold out

overall I’d say we can keep Helly Great

I don’t think so. These are from a few years before idea. I think he’s skiing on the Prophet 150s or whatever those crazy prototypes were. He’s on rockered skis in idea maybe first gen EP pros iirc

I saw just as many HH as I did grundens growing in a town where commercial fishing was the largest employment source

I have never known any sailors

What region? I'm in the northeast.

How the fuck did you find this mobb deep HH colab?!

I used to spend a lot of time in the projects/very low income areas near Washington DC. Most of the local “pharmacists” or other hood rich guys in that area would be dripped out in Helly Hansen, even if was in the middle of the summer for the flex haha. I wasn’t huge into skiing at the time, but I started thinking about it more the other day and it led me down a rabbit hole into discovering that Helly Hansen is sick.

let's be real, this is why Helly Hansen is now uncool:

No, it's because they dropped their freeski program and their designs went down the drain. Helly was one of the coolest brands up until 2009, largely thanks to Eric Pollard and PK Hunder making it look sick

Soo.. they went from sponsoring cool stuff to sponsoring vail resorts. I feel my point still stands.

So I used manage a resort warehouse for a VR resort and I would order the uniforms to replace the worn ones and its damn near full price. I was shocked they didn’t have a better negotiated deal.

Its fuckin huge for a company to land resort contracts. 1 all their marketing features the products and specifically excludes other brands 2 the employees wearing it is such a successful marketing program. Smith helmet sales skyrocketed after they were on all the employees noggins. people see the shredders, the locals, the employees all in those helmets and other gear so their like damn better snag that shit so i can be a shredder.

i wish VR would get a deal with Loud Records as part of their DEI initiative ? all their music videos on the slopes would be dope

Yes where are the mountains sponsored by loud records? That’s what the people want.

Two recent Helly pick ups, first one is from their boardwear line up. Helly Hansen and Haglofs has been the wave lately

That's just because they're hella expensive. Their gear is still good shit

Out of all the quality brands HH is definitely on the more affordable side.

Dawg don’t you know how many people have helly pro deals? Just hit up any of your homies who are even remotely associated with VR or any resort that uses Helly
