Major error in freeskier

so why is high north listed as one of the camps in the new freeskier magazine? its really funny because in my mind this just shows that magazines are getting whacker as the internet gets sicker i meen they got high north listed as a camp and an rcr article which was so 2 months ago

im done with mags
 
yea there were a bunch of errors in that magazine.. they said CRC instead of RCR. there are spelling errors in the Dumont/Olsson interview. They dont mention that Mike Douglas invented the D-Spin for the Timeline section. and they are up Tanner's ass in that article and all the shots for the mag.
 
I got a 3 year freeskier subscription for $3 so i'm not gonna complain, but your right, tehre are alot of typos and errors.
 
I don't think the decision was made at that point to shut HN down...I think this is a fairly recent issue that has come up.
 
i have been reading around the forums and have finally decided to let out my frustration as i listen to my juelz santana, hung over and tired.so here it goes:

well freeskier is wack, its a shit magazine that sucks the dick of less than ten "super" pros, you think that having matt harvey as editor it would get better just because he started NS and knows a thing or two about the youth of skiing right? wrong.

what they need are some upgrades to the magazine:

1) inspiring interviews with am's, im fucking tired of reading about peter olenicks big balls doing some dumb double flip, 

2) cut the shitty ad's, like north 44? who the fuck are these people? of course freeskier needs to make money but there are bunch of companies that dont even have ad's in freeskier that could potentially be there ex. dragon

3) photos of less known skiers. not simon dumont with the same fucking angle that i saw in that movie

4) photos of rails, are minimal. its so refreshing to see those because as sweet as a big cliff shot is, it looks the exact same as the rest of the photos in the magazine and the year before that. i applaud freeskier for the cover photo with sammy carlson, for the photo annual. a fantastic photo, but there has to be more of that!

5) creativity. the layout is shit and has stayed the same for a long time. the road trip challenge was the best article of the year for sure, but there needs to be more like that!

6) help launch the careers of some skiers for christ sake! because they have either contests, movies and photos. contests are fucking boring so if you wanna break out of that you do photos and movies. however, when freeskier only takes those photos of jon olsson doing the same jump photo, your killing the next generation of skiers! and there is alot of availible photos that can be used. and movie wise, your only gonna get in there if you did really well in a contest, know people or win superunknown

7) photos from different areas of the world, not just colorado fuck! if you wanna be the world wide representer of freeskiing, because that is what you are. you should step up your game already

dont get the impression that i dont read. cause i do, alot. magazines moreso than books, and i read snowboard magazines, specifically snowboard canada. now that is a quality magazine. published quarterly, it contains about 3 freeskiers within each with enough interesting articles to keep one occupied for a long long time. sbc skier is good but there is too much of a focus on big mountain. like thats cool but alot of kids cant relate to that shit, like coming from ontario, where your biggest cliffs are 15 feet to flat, you cant really do that all the time. if you wanna inspired creative skiers, you have to show that if you use your surroundings to its maximum potential, you can and will succeed and can do something with your skiing.

bring the hate and the love, because im ready

 
why don't you say what you just said TO freeskier? i'm sure they'd appreciate input from people in their demographic...this is what they want to hear (although more maturely stated, in my opinion). some of the people who contribute to the magazine are in our age range and whatever.
 
Stop saying that, you think he has the resources, man power, or any knowledge of how to make a magazine? It's not easy to make it to the top. If he could I'm sure a ton of people would be kicking and screaming trying to battle everyone to the top. As long as people buy a mediocre product the company has no reason to change
 
yah but thats what makes it lame

why dont they work different angles, ones that cant be poached by the internet. i just think its a changing world, and they aren't doing anything to keep up

that and the mag sucks but whatevs
 
i liked to point out that matt harvey probaly still uses this website. purely speculation of course. however, if someone that is associated with freeskier reads this and says "wow 3 pages of kids agree with these points, maybe some of these ideas will help for a new direction of the magazine" its simply constructivism criticism, although it is seen as harsh because this shit has been going on for so long. as well this, will be better than sending a random email to freeskier that will be probaly get deleted immediately
 
you say they dont like ams, i believe that a lake placid local shredder thats becoming pretty popular had a 1 page interview recently, there were a few up and commers in that issue, i want to say that t-wall was in it or atleast had a photo with a blurb under it
 
there are a bunch of screw ups. i think that they lost their editor/revisor and now the dumb reporters don't want to do it so they leave that mistakes in it.
 
aside from here on ns for t-wall, mike clarke isnt really well known bro. They have had good segments in the last few seasons but they are nowhere near superstar status like that kid was claiming freeskier only published

Yea its wierd, I didnt really feel the need to resubscribe to Freeskier either. Always all the same photogs.
 
i emailed matt 2-3 weeks ago when the summer camp guide came out about my frustration about the SASS camp not being included in the list of summer camps, but yet the mt. hood WINTER camp was in a summer camp guide, still no response, freeskier can suck my dick not renewing my subscription
 
i have never paid for a ski mag subscription. i got like 10 free 1 year subscriptions for a couple different ski mags each when i ordered a PBP package a while back.
 
Did you guys notice the major error on this site?! It still has a High North ad on the site. That is such old news I can't believe they haven't taken it down yet. Hasn't anyone told them?

matt harvey is awesome. period. But I did like when the summer camp issue came out in march, not january. It usually signifies the last issue or last "real issue" of the season and that is sad that freeskier's "season" ends with this mag? My season is just starting.
