Magma 3

so sick that the younger generation can experience the same shit that we did with B&E. Ahall the goat. Hunter elite. Owen a beast, all 3 going down in history as all time greats for sure.

so crazy how casual ahall made that long as lipb2 look, followed by a bswap. triple was a weird ender imo

They've ended every movie with a triple so its insanely fitting IMO

that’s what I thought, the trick ahall did right before would be more fitting imo. gonna finish the trilogy I guess

respect to AHall and Hunter.

But are you seriously comparing this to B&E?

lol

Unsure how you can't see the similarities but I can spell it out for you...

-Longevity as a "Duo", Owen Dahlberg deserves credit but so do the filmers of B&E like Joakim Aslund

-Competition Skiers

-Filmed multiple movies together as well as "episodes" on youtube

-The greatest rider of the generation was one of the skiers

-Great filming, banging soundtracks

-Innovative tricks

-Hammers on both jumps and rails

Hot take, I didn't like the music. Top notch Skiing and Filming tho, gotta give em that no doubt.

Agreed, while it didn't take away from the skiing I liked the track selection on their previous movies more.

dayum, is this thread of hype real?

love reading all the comments before watching ...

im pretty old, should i put on a diaper or what?

shit is poetic 3 movies 3 triples for all 3 enders, couldn’t write it better

Unbelievably in awe with this project... I haven't seen that many A+ clips in a row in a long time. To think they got that many clips while competing and crushing everything else during the season is crazy. I need to watch this many more times to truly appreciate every trick!

you really cant spoil a ski film/edit... the hype triggers temporary delusional imagery until you get to see it to believe it! and yeah, its a good thing depends are so dependable...

...it was the cornice/waterfall drop...

Masterpiece. All 3 are ?. Can’t believe we got so much footage from these guys during comp seasons. Owen one of the best and most unique filmmakers in all of skiing. My only tiny complaint was that the last song was almost too chill for what they were throwing down.

Noticed way more crazy stuff about tricks and spots than at the premiere which made it all even more amazing on rewatch

Amazing tech skiing. A hall looking like a truck stop though. His skiing is so flawless, why must his fit be so off? Hunter looking g in the capeesh though. These guys popped off, I’d love to see them expand their circle to add other top notch skiers (Dani b, edjoy, etc)

Also I would have enjoyed more b-roll and story. The whirlwind of a filming schedule would have been cool to see from behind the scenes. Coulda been a 45 min movie easily imo

wouldn't say I didn't like it, but the type of music used was pretty predictable, based on their previous videos.

I saw this live. And just watched it 2x tonight. I know magma 3 was beautiful.

If you’re talking about music choice you are wrong. Like the clip of the instruments starting with the match of a rail vibration. Like cmon. That’s how you do it.

In this heavy year of ski edits. This is the best.

Guys are making pretty fair B&E comparisons, I’m also gonna throw out a Stept comparison. Next level style and filmmaking.

these dudes put in more work last season than every other pro combined - it is seriously insane to film 15minutes of actual bangin clips while traveling to compete/win on the comp circuit. Owen included, filmed at least two videos? plus all the magma youtube stuff. And this is like the 4th year in a row that they’ve all done this shit. hope a video like this lights a fire under the ass of all the crews who only film street to put in more work and also gets more of the super talented comp dudes out into the backcountry/streets going forward

They released like a dozen short edits on the magma channel last winter for this exact purpose where have you been

I liked it but I don’t think the soundtrack and spot selection are as good as some of the other movies from this year, just my personal taste though

Incredible for sure. It is just so weird to me that they are putting these slow jams over the insanely gnarly shit they are doing. Maybe that is the point? Doing a triple cork off a massive quarter pipe or hitting crazy urban spots is just "chill" and "vibey" to them, not "gnarly" "dangerous" or "exciting" even?

The music sounds like they are trying to slow dance with me but they are doing triple corks off back country jumps and hitting gnarly street rails.

naw it's nostalgic. they did this really big thing and the music is emotional and it symbolizes the project coming to an end.

Lol i doubt it was chill, even for them. I would guess that the music was intended to reflect the emotions and nostalgia, with this video being the end of a trilogy. I think the first magma video dropped back in 2019. I kinda like the chill music, refreshing contrast to more aggressive music (emo, metal, etc)

Yeah i feel that, the juxtaposition is just funny to me.

I’m with you on this, would have enjoyed a harder soundtrack

Man, I got a big boy job and I've been working hard as shit at it. Haven't been able to keep anywhere near as up to date on ski stuff as I like since I literally don't have the time. This was fucking awesome. Even if Hunter and Ahall never release another film, Magma has been maybe the best fucking project in skiing that I can remember. It's just an absolute fucking passion project by people who really care for the people who really care.

Skiing is always going to be my passion, and damn, this shit fucking hits heavy.

Love you all boys and girls
