//www.magiclantern.fm/downloadIt is possible to brick your camera but no one on here has and according to the company no one has reported that they have bricked there camera so it is pretty un likely .
On the other hand you can freeze your camera up if you are not cautious with it (put it in folders on the card, Delete it, mess with ml folders, etc) but that is not a big deal just pull the battery out and uninstall ml from the card and reinstall and your all good no damage is done by this

I'd definitely recommend getting ML. I use it and have never had a problem
