Magazine trick tips SUCK

i was reading an old FREESKIER mag from '03 and the trick tip section was rediculous..

-Jon McMurray was teaching us how to back flip to rail. yes backflip onto rail.

-Tanner hall was teaching d-spins 1080.

-Someone was teaching McTwist 7's in pipe (i have no idea what mctwist is.

it just seems to me that these tricks might be a bit much for trick tips, especially since most readers probably have no intention of going out and hucking a flip onto a rail. i just laughed and showed all of my friends, then we all laughed.. thought id share.

I remember Tanner did a trick tip for gap to rail in a Volume video once.

"Approach jump with speed, ollie, turn, slide, ride away clean. Make sure you have enough speed or you'll fail miserably."

^ that would be VERY useful..switch carving is a whole different technique to going forwards..often i find myself stuck on an edge and flying off into the trees haha

I believe you are mistaken, and the magazine was FREEZE. I think I remember the mctwist guy to be Jon Reedy. I think it's funny as well, not that I've read how to do a flip to rail, I should try one. Right?

Yeah, they wernt all like that, some where just sliding rails, and allyoops in the pipe and simple stuff. Sometimes they just kicked it up a notch with backflips to rails. Though I dont know, maybe some other people tried it.

I always found those pretty amusing too, I mean it was all well and good when the tricks were somewhat reasonable but a lot of them were just rediculous. The notion of reading 5 simple steps and then going out and stomping a switch cork 9 is pretty damned funny, I wonder how many people have been hospitalized because of those.
