mad trix worth it?

Hey, I've been researching a lot lately about the all mountain twin tip ski and have been wondering whether some of them are worth their money or not. One particular ski that I have been curious about and haven't really found too much information on around the net is the head mad trix. I've heard some things about the system binding being really heavy, but I would probably just get the mad trix without that setup if I was interested in them. I wanted to get some opinions on whether or not they really are a good powder, tree, mogul, and steep skiing machine. The thing I like about the mad trix compared to say the pocket rocket is that they do have some sidecut which is good for the groomed stuff. However, I get that suspicion in the back of my mind that the mad trix is too much of a park ski and for all mountain stuff, it would be better to go to a v-pro, v-explosiv, pocket rocket or something along those lines. The mad trix does have some width on it with 111/75/106 dimensions so I'm trying to figure out how it compares to other skis in this class.

Normally, I ski whistler as my main destintion and rarely drop below the tree line so I would be rippin powder, moguls, cliffs, steep faces, and the truly amazing whistler bowl skiing so I'm not exactly sure what would be the better ski in those conditions. Dont get my wrong, I definitely enjoy my airtime too and occasionally hit the park or backcountry booters. If anybody has any advice or opinions I would be glad to hear them!

the mad trix sound perfect for the stuff youre doing..and you dont even notice the weight when youre skiing them.

if possible ski them first......i've never skied them but the whole system thing seems kind of dumb to me cuz i'm ussually in the park half the time and on the mountain the other half and changing them five times a day would get on my nerves

Aside from weight, I have heard very few bad things about them. I'm not sure how they'd be in powder since they are mid-fat sized though.

go for the mad trix the v pro or pocket rockets what evrs u like bta or is cheaper i know ppl with all of these and the say there all sick

mad trix own, you wont be sorry if you buy them

but r u sure you dont want a fatter ski if you are gonna be riddin pow and droppin cliffs.......

yeah, I'm not sure...I would probably like something a little fatter...I'm curious about the pocket rocket because I've heard mixed things about them...Obviously they are soft since they are a solomon ski, but I'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing when it's going to be used for powder. Plus, I weigh about 175 so I'm not sure how badly the soft flex would affect me...

take a look at the new mad_trix mojo, before you buy the old ones, they are 90mm in the middle so their dimensions are like the pockets.....

Yeah - I'd say go for about an 80mm to 90mm waist for good all mountain performance. I ski V-Pros and they rule all round (113/83/105). 83mm is still narrow enough for hardpack, unless you like really quick edge-to-edge, so there really isn't a big disadvantage of going a bit fatter.

Like dude above said, demo whatever you can. I think skis that would suit you well would be V-Pro, Troublemaker, Public Enemy, Pocket Rocket, Mojo.

i thought that all fat skis where easy to flex just becuse its fatter like a snowboard..those things are soo easy to flex..

head is makin the mojos this year instead or as another ski in there line i think, there a bit wider than the mad trix and good for the stuff your doin

yeah HEAD has definitely improved the mad trix with the mojo this year, but the only thing is I'm not diggin the graphics. It's too usa patriotic for me since I'm Canadian...lol...but the snake thing is pretty sweet. It's nice that they new mojos are a little fatter through the waist...has anyone heard of prices for the mojo this year?
