i have last seasons Machete's... and the plate is what helps make them heavy... Ive had mine for 2 seasons and NO complaints from me... It depends on what you wanted them for... they kick ass all over the mountian... they are awesome if ur just learning the park... they are nearly impossible to break... I teach rug rats and they still look new...

I ski machetes and love them. No Offense but I wouldn't recomend them to anyone but expert or heavy skiers because there are a lot of ski to push you around. If your semi-new to the sport I don't think thier the correct ski for you.

I never find the weight to be a problem while skiing dude, the skis hold so well and i've never had any problems. SICK ski !

ya I compaired the weight of the Board's to the 1080 board's and there about the same I geuss its Just the bindings But a other thing is that first the little red thing on the tip of the ski's fell of so I got them replaced the the hole tip came of and i am still weighting for them to come.....

i haven't found a problem with my machetes yet. i think they're a pretty phat all mountain rippin ski. the weight is about the same as my 1080s i find

they always bend...
when fiberglass bends it flexes (and bends back) when stainless steel bends too far it doesn't bend back.
