Apple updated their Macbooks like 2 months ago.
You get a better scratch resistant screen, more memory, a lit keyboard, aluminum casing, better speakers (I think? I know mine sound nice for a laptop, way better than any other I've owned.), an SD card slot and a Firewire port, the options to upgrade to a larger factory hardrive or solid state drive, and it's actually lighter and smaller than the Macbook. For $200 it's probably worth it just for better RAM and a more durable casing.
Also, keep in mind that "I'm getting into photo/video editing" is not synonymous with "I need a Macbook Pro". If you have this little knowledge of computers as it is, you might want to play around for a few months or even take a short class to find what you really want. I own both a PC running Windows and a Macbook Pro. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Play first, spend lots of money later.
