Macbook Screen Replacement

Hi M&A, so basically I have some black "dead pixels" possibly on my screen. They are basically clumps of black. It is getting worse and now I have almost a vignette forming at the top corners of my screen. its weird though cause when I do a screen shot, the black spots don't show up and shows the screen perfectly. My macbook is a 2.1 GHz Core 2 duo from 2008, model T8100 I believe if that helps. I am 95% sure my apple care 3 year warranty is up. My question is does anyone know any reliable and trustworthy sites/replacement stores as apple will most definitely be sooo pricy? I've heard of people buying the part and replacing the screen themselves. Sounds kinda sketch to me. I would love to get another year out of this computer before I get a new one for university. Thanks

where do you live? because my friend has a business of where they repair almost all apple products for pretty cheap. repaired my screen.

Alright thats not to bad. I live in Michigan, Birmingham Michigan to be exact. Mapquest it or something and if it asks for a street name just put in Woodward ave. If you really want a reliable source these guys are it. It took them about a week or so to fix mine and its good as new. I think you can ship it to them so you dont have to drive.

Same thing happened to me. I think I typed in computer screen replacement in toronto on google and found a place on front street right down by the skydome. Took the computer in, went back a couple hours later and it was done. Cost me just over 100 bucks I think. The only problem is the magnets did not get realigned so my computer doesnt go to sleep automatically when I close it, just have to do it manually.
