Macbook Question +++karma

I just got the new macbook..pretty sick but whenever someone sends me a picture over ichat it gets all laggy and shit and ichat freezes. I can use other applications but ichat just freezes and takes about 5 minutes to receive the picture. Anything that can change this? help me out
 
Unless it's a problem with RAM, which is unlikely with macbook (relatively new i assume?) It may have to do with your service provider and your upload/download speed. I don't have a solution for you, but a good place to start would be to consider the following....Search for iChat software updates, Meet with a MacGenius, Go onto the mac website and search for solutions, or browse google for related forums.
 
i think it has to do with your service to the internet..if its weak, itll lag, but if you have nice service, it should work fine
 
I don't own the Macbook but I do have the iMac and I use iChat all the time. I used to have the same problem and it has to do with Bandwidth. If you have over large internet using applications open, it'll slow you down. Even the NS'ers site can slow it down for you so next time you're on, try and use only iChat. If that doesn't help go to > iChat > Preferences > Select the Video Tab > then set your bandwidth limit to something low, like 100 or 200 kps. This will set a cap to bandwidth and should decrease your lag but also, it will slightly decrease your quality.

If you're using a wireless internet connection, you're already at a disadvantage but this kps adjustment should help
 
yea i have the new macbook as well and my ichat transfer is a little messed up as well. so it may be something that happens alot with macbooks.
 
I have a macbook and it works fine recieving pics on ichat unless my internet connection is week or my computer had been on for a long time.
 
first, reinstall ichat. then reboot the laptop. open up safari. goto ebay.com and open a listing "macbook for sale". sell to the first bidder. Call dell or hp.
