MacBook pro or Alienware?

i have been struggling with my shitty HP laptop for to long. im finally gonna get a new one and was wondering what everybody preferred; mac or alienware. so i was wondering if any of you had the chance which one would you get and why??
 
got an alienware m11x r3 last september and its been great, plays swtor perfectly on high graphics no lag ever, but honestly if your not gonna be playing games and just gonna be doing schoolwork and music and stuff id go with a macbook pro. both are very overpriced though.
 
This. You had to pick the 2 most controversial overpriced brands and compare them, mad shitstorm abroad.
 
Well since you cant play MW2 on a mac unless you boot windows onto it...i think you answered your own question. Get a nice laptop, or custom build one yourself for half the price of an alienware.
 
go with the mac book. There super nice computers, but over priced for what you get. If your only going to play mw2 on your computer, just buy a freakin xbox. My buds got an alienware, its a nice computer but if your not going to game on it hard, its pretty big an overly expensive for the graphics and stuff if your not going to actually use them
 
to be honest i would go with Alienware over any other computer any day if I'm buying a laptop. For a Desktop computer I would prefer to build my own if price isn't that big of an issue. You can build such a power house of a PC Desktop now a days if you wanna put the money into it. Best part is you wont need to buy a new computer for the next 5 years.

What it all really comes down to though is what are you planning on doing with your computer.
 
To echo the above sentiment my macbook pro has been the most reliable, easy, and maintenance free computer EVER.

I would gladly drop the coin again.

 
I love my Macbook, but honestly, I find it ridiculous how many people have a Macbook which they don't even really need. I got mine because I use PS/LR a LOT and it just runs that much smoother, but seriously, all the girls who just get a Macbook to be on Facebook, that's ridiculous...
 
I've had my macbook pro for about 3 years now, never a problem with it. Battery life is only three hours now (used to run for 6.5-7 ish) but that's to be expected.
 
chances are that you will be greatly served with a 600-700$ pc laptop if thats the "correct" term for it.

yeah macs are nice and shit but for some shitty game, some office applications and facebook you dont need the extra $1 k.
 
Both are overpriced. At least with Alienware you get what you pay for, rather than pay fuck lots more just because it's a mac and has parts you could get yourself and put together for a third of the price
 
Five years ago I built up an Alienware M9750 because I was tired of having a slow computer. I spent $4,500 on it and it was the worst computer I have ever owner. I would have to recover it constantly and it could not run Adobe CS3 at the time. I had it for 18 months or so and then sold it for $2,200. I used that money to buy a 15" MacBook Pro and haven't had a problem with it in the 40 months I have owned it.

I would suggest a Mac for ease of use and reliability. If the only reason you are considering a windows system is for MW, get an X Box as well.

I'm sure Alienware makes a decent computer and mine was just a lemon, but in my personal experience it was not worth the money I spent and my MacBook has been worth every penny.
 
I will now echo your echo of the above sentiment to say that I love my MBP and will probably never buy a Windows PC again. Totally worth the money, IMO.
 
And I will echo your echo's echo and agree, the ONLY think that kind of bugs me about my macbook pro is that games are a little harder to find for it. But I have an Xbox anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
 
I have an alienware, its fuckin sick for gaming but if your not gonna be gaming a lot dont get it. Alienwares are heavy as fuck so bringing it anywhere is a hassle. Alienware desktops are sweet but it kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop imo

Macbook pro makes you look rich and stylish- plus you edit all of your stupid facebook photos so women think your are creative

MBP= bitches- bitches love MBP
Alienware will make you fall in love with computer games, get fat, lose all contact with outside world, and probably die an early death

So in conclusion, MBP gets you laid, alienware kills you do to obesity

OP you are clearly retarted. These are two different types of computers with two different OSs made for two completely different purposes in completely different price ranges...

Maybe you should figure out what you want a computer for first?
 
I assume youre a student? of so, Apple will give you a discount on all their products (I am not sure exactly how much though) I got mine with iWork for 1100 I think
 
i got an asus as a present awhile ago and i think it was around 500 4gb of ram. i use it everyday and its been dropped a few times. never had any problems with it.

I did this exact thing and have no complaints what so ever. it cost a lot less and it still brand new. I have never had any problems at all.
