Macbook Pro not reading my 7D

i dont know what is going on...i plug it in, cam is on, its not popping up...i need to edit some photos for class tomorrow!!

? it would always read it off the bat when it was connected...havent taken many pictures in last 2 weeks and i did a software update but nothing that i think would affect it..

my card reader on the comp isnt reading anything...should have mentioned that in my first post but i was going to buy a card reader rcently but was hoping i could somehow get this fixed?
