im looking at one for college, but i need to run windows. i hear you can do it with boot camp, but its still in beta testing and im just wondering if anyone is doing it right now and how its working.

why do you need to run windows? only thing I can think of is for games. which seems to be running pretty well in bootcamp.

Why the fuck would you ruin a Mac by running Windows you doink. Yes, it's possible to run windows, it's just stupid. Smarten up. You buy a mac for a reason.

Some oof you guys are the biggest fucking idiots. He proboblly needs Windows to run programs that he needs to work with in college, i know someone who has the same problem. So yeah Boot Camp is still Beta but i hhave heard its does OK. And A Mac Book Pro is the way to go.

You're wrong, the new macbook is amazing. My friend has one and it basically rapes children, greatest laptop on the market for everything (except games, I think voodoos run games the best).

thanks you....im going into a business school and i need to run like 3 programs on windows, thats it. but i want a mac because they're quality for pretty much everything else (except maybe games, but hey, i'll use boot camp for the games that i play maybe once every 3 months)

yeah, macs are the shit, i have a g4 powerbook, but my dad has the macbook pro and its really fast. but alot o microsoft programs are made for macs also so id look into that because using windows on the macs slows them down a ton. If you really have to use a windows program i would suggest just using an ibm cause it will slow down the mac so much

are you kidding me, macs rape the shit out of every other computer, there way more powerful, faster, theres a grand total of 30 virus's for them opposed to the 123456789+ virus's for other comps.

im ordering mine today, well just the regular macbook...cuz i dont have 8 million dollars to spend, just 6mil

Im pretty sure the macbook pro runs windows exceptionally well...but maybe i heard some false info.

What programs for business school? If they dont have them for Mac and they are going to be at the core of your computing needs you should look into the Acer Ferrari.

My friend has one and if i didn't get my Powerbook, i would DEFINATLY be rolling with that guy, its insane.

Idk, most people say it runs fast but my dad put it on for like a week just for the hell of it and it was really slow, it could be that he has a shitload of stuff on his comp though

lemme guess...word, powerpoint, and some other office program. just get the mac version of them. they are fully compatable with windows and you won't have a problem.

yeah i got windows on my mac so i can use ACID Pro, but windows gets so annoying when u start up. I always have popups coming up. I wish ACID was on a Mac

so i love mac but my macbook pro is a little bitch. it has alot of trouble waking up from sleep. but anyways back to the point of the thread. I recommend getting 2 gigs or more of ram, i dont know if 2 is the max or not. And then you should buy the program Parallels $80. It lets you run both windows and mac at the same time. Its pretty sick.
