Hey guys im getting a new macbook but im not sure weather to get the 15 or 13 inch. Ill be doing all my video editing on this but also using it for school. Is the 15" really worth the extra $300+ or will i be happy with the 13. Remember ill be carrying this everywhere with me and i don't want anything too big. Thanks for the input

13" is nice for travel but 15" is much nicer to look at IMO 13" seems almost crowded.

If you plan on editing on t without an external monitor, then defiantly get the 15". The 13 is just to small to spend any time editing on, 15 will do, but if you can get an external monitor so you can use that at home.

I have a custom built gaming computer right now but i dont game anymore and it just takes up space. With that said i do have a 24" bad ass monitor so if i sell my computer without the monitor then i guess i will be fine with that

I have the 15, and its honestly not a pain to carry, it fits in my backpack, and even in my little camelbak. Also, it has a lot of thins the 13 doesn't, like a quad core processor and a better graphics card, and separate audio in and out ports

Well I love my 13 inch mbp but that's because I don't need something bigger since it's for school and travelling. The 15 inch is really nice fought, if you have the extra cash go for it man.

If you are going to edit videos, then you should purchase the 15 inch. Not only for screen size but also for the dedicated graphics card. Plus dont forget your student discount!

THis save 180$ , 100$ on the laptop and 80$ on applecare. Plus if you buy before september ish you have a 100$ applestore gift card.

I've got a 13" MBP and love the size of it, but would probably go with a 15" next time. The hi-res anti-glare option would be really important for this. As well as that it packs a lot of extra power.

I have a 13" mbp that I've spent many hours editing video on in premiere. It gets the job done, but I really wish I had an extra 2" to work with when editing. Only reason I got the 13" instead of 15" was because I was short on cash and I got mine for like 900 refurbished.

I'm in the same situation as you, I'm probably going to end up going with the 13'' simply because I cannot afford a 15'', and I'll probably be getting an external monitor somewhere down the road. If you have the money, go for the 15'', if not, the 13'' still works fine.

Spending 2k on a computer is nothing, i've done that every time ive bought a new computer. Thats just how macs, base 15" BEFORE they had retina screens was 1799 (obviously student discount helped, but same can be said for the rMPB) so really, its only a couple 100 more than normal, but it makes sense... If you dont wanna spend money on a quality product then buy a windows computer.

as others said- yeah the 15 inch is actually a better computer too. Your not just upgrading screen size when you go from 13 to 15

Better screen resolution, more cores and a better graphics card....if you can afford it then of course go for the 15'', but if not, then go with the 13'' and upgrade to an SSD and it'll still be awesome.

Definitely depends on how much of your life revolves around your computer. For me it's more of a "I'll own this for a long time" kind of thing, so I always get exactly what I want and keep it until it straight up dies.

i carried my 15 inch around school half of the year, its not to bad, just get a nice bag, it gets annoying going to the bathroom and if kids kick it or you have to leave it somewhere, i just left mine in my locker, its not too bad, def get a protective case, school is rough on a computer

the 15 is going to be much better for editing, i love mine, but its still slow editing with 4 g of ram, but 100x better than my old pc

15 inch is the way to go IMO
