Macbook Dead From Energy Drink

def take it apart and let it dry then wipe the stickiness off...

anyone else think its a little funny, spill an energy drink on it and now energy cant go into in? my its just my stupid simple mind lol
 
Go to apple say its broken and usually they'll just replace it. I got a brand new ipod and a new computer after I broke them both the customer service is amazing
 
I thing my apple store sucks cuz they are always kind of rude there but i think she told them up front she spilled drink on it so that kinda sucks.
 
Not to be nitpicky but Apples all have a year of warranty just 90 days of phone support. As has been said just go to an apple store and mention your family are good customers or some shit and they might help you out.

They said warranty wouldnt cover spills though =(

best buy - yaaayy!- we have a commercial on our tvs and its of a girl that spills a slushie onto her comp[- then geek squad comes and sucks it out using telakensis- fuckin sweet
 
To bad she didnt buy from there that sucks.

Got it from her college store, dont ask me why i think it might have been cheaper.

I swear never go cheaper, buy expensive it last longer and has better warranty and insurance crap.
 
Ok so I got my sisters computer now and it's taken apart and when everything is together(connected) it won't even turn on. So I'm going to try and mess with it( I'm kinda techy) and see if I can't get it working.

The guys at the mac store got it to turn on briefly at the store and I don't know why it turned off after that but I don't think it's been on since.

So I was thinking that I could maybe find another mac and use it for parts or something or try and find out exactly why it won't run and see if I can fix it. Do you guys have any ideas of what I could do any help is appreciated. Thanks
 
Haha, sucker, i puked on my compter and scored a new keyboard and topping. I really hope you didn't actually go in and tell them it was water damage...
 
sell it on ebay, dont hide anything. just say it's broken, and list the specs... and everything you know about it...

you'll get atleast $200 if its the new one. But I'm not a mac fapper, so i wouldn't really know
 
My sister went in there and did. Mistaken on her part but it was all sticky and stuff so they wouldve figured it out.

Also it's been like a week since it happened so the rice thing probablywouldnt help would it?

The laptop wouldnt even turn on. no sign of life.

Then i get back from a three day hunting trip and try it again and bam it turns on and it works just fine!!!!!!!!!!!

Im typing on it right now, what gives? Its like magic or something.

But my sister bought a new one and so now i think i get a mac muahahahah
 
My friends macbook was under water for four days after his sisters car got dumped in a river by a flood. He sent it into Apple and they took it apart and dried it out it didnt work right away but like after a couple of months it worked again and it works fine.

My ex did this to my ibook except with booze, and it was the same deal, not fixable. I got a new laptop. C'est la vie.

ya its super fast now, but sometimes it seems like it is all over the place, and then it will jsut crash unexpectedly.

go on the internet andd find the liquid damage stickers, they get washed out wen water is on them, replace the ones that are deactivated on the laptop, and then send it in, just say the motherboard got bunt, problem solved
 
yeah i guess that might work. pretty ballsy though. girl i know did basically the same thing with her cell phone a while back. dropped it in water then bleached the wetness indicator sticker ad got it replaced. and yeah i know the OP no longer needs this advice im just talking
