Macbook Cracking

has anyone else had problems with their macbook cracking? my macbook has started to crack along the top edge where i usually rest my hand. i've never dropped it or anything that would have caused a crack.

They all do it dont worry about it. If its under warranty you can take it in to get it replaced but the replacement will just crack too. Combination of shitty design and shitty plastic.

yup, mines cracked all over the edges. i just havent gotten over to vancouver or seattle to get to the apple store yet.

like stated before its covered under warranty. Take it to any apple store and they will replace the cracked plastic for free. simple and easy.

on another know, I stepped on my macbook and the glass is starting to spider. Could that be covered under my warranty in any way? My guess is no, but I figured I would ask anyway.

What, do you have fucking hulk hands? Hold it on the bottom.

Aluminum doesnt crack bitches

And the plastic one i had only cracked when i dropped it.

My homie broke his and apple told him it would be 800. Ended up getting a screen for like 80 bucks on ebay and fixing it himself.

My brother's mbp has a "thunder fly" dead under the glass on the screen... It was wondering about for a couple of days then just died right in the middle of the screen... UNDER the glass!!! Those things get everywhere! Crazy!!

I got the macbook the year they made the aluminum macbook and its sick and hasnt cracked.... but it does have a dent...

yeah, it happened to mine too. I just covered it with tap and it solves it pretty well. That's one of the reasons they made an aluminum version one year and then made a 13in macbook pro.

Give me your bank account routing number and ssn and I'll have apple send you 1000000 mac books. Clearly they're not for you, its just since my father was deposed as supreme ruler of apple land I need help exporting the macbooks.
For your time and trouble you can keep 20000 of the macbooks for your personal use.
Thank you and god bless
Esand.

.....?

no. i am a tech with access to apple gsx and i work at a large certified repair center.

but if you want to send me money you can do as well

My macbook which i'v had for 3 years - the edges where you rest your hand when you use the keypad have cracked on about 3 separate occasions. Luckily I bought the apple care thing where you send it in and they repair it. If i didnt buy that apple care program, apparently the tech said I'd have to pay 400 bucks each time the sides had hairline cracks if i wanted it repaired. I try to use a wireless mouse more often so it won't crack as much

Lol. I thought you were gonna ask a legit cracking question, not hardware cracks. Lol at all style and no substance.

i've had my palm rest, keyboard, both stick of ram, charger, and connector the battery presses into replaced but now my applecare is out so hopefully nothing else breaks.

Call them and act all pissed claiming you were positive that your warranty covered such a thing when you bought it. I did the same thing, got a $1200 repair, new screen and all, fo free that way.

300$ dollar Compaq I got on black Friday almost 3 years ago is still working without any cracks bitches!!!..

But in all honesty I really want a mac.

The reason it cracks there is because the 2 magnets that hold the laptop screen down attach at that spot. If you always open the laptop just by lifting the screen in the middle (where the little indentation is where the screen meets the body) then you will get the cracks. If you open the screen by holding the two corners, you probably won't get the cracking. Shitty design.

so if you open the computer how apple suggests you open it, it will break, but if you do it a different way it's fine?

A+ apple

if you have applecare they will cover it. normal warranty even we cover everything but negligence.

atleast where i work.......we replace literally everything but the memory, hard drive, and fucking cd-rom many times.

the logic board alone is the cuts of the comp tho really....its got your cpu on it already....
