Macs aren't any better for graphic design, editing or music. Photoshop runs better on PCs, FCP is almost the same as Premiere Pro, and Logic, Live, Reason, and every other music program are for PC AND Mac.

Its just your personal preference, one isn't inherently better (OS excepted).

Everyone going around saying how much better Macs are for "art" are just evidence of how killer of a marketing department apple has. I'm not biased, I have a Macbook Pro and think its amazing. I have done more photoshop and illustrator use, music production, and editing than a lot of people have, on both systems, and this is just my opinion on the matter.
 
I agree, mac and pc are now the same computer, both have intel chips. The only difference is the operating systems, OSX and Windows. The only reason Macs were better for video and graphics is the architecture of the power pc chip which allowed for huge amounts of data to be render quicker. But macs are no longer made with ppc chips so they process information just like pc's do.
 
It all depends on what sort of thing you will be doing. There is one key difference, and it is that Windows runs on Java software, while Apple runs on Mac OS operating system which is much more complicated, so Apple if you need simple tasks done, and Microsoft for programming software and other such tiddliwinks.
 
Im not down with the new Intel Macs. Im still rockin the PowerPC Macs. And Windows is quite possibly the worst operating system I've ever used. PCs can be good, but all the ones I've used are just plain shitty. I've only seen good PCs for sale being much more expensive than a good Mac.

but yes, to say one is overall better than the other, is stupid, even though I'm totally 100% mac now.

And what about those Mac vs. PC commercials? Those are complete and utter bullshit propaganda. And the sad thing is, people will actually believe it.
 
yeah I love Apple with all my heart but they're getting too cocky and talking tons of shit about PCs, and when they release a new iPod or something, they act like Neil Armstrong landed on the moon or something. like putting out all this hype when its really just a music player but its gotten to the point where its not c00l to not own an iPod.
 
As for the ones that I have seen, there is no truth what so ever, except for the fact that there are things called PCs and things called Macs. Other than that, no truth.

I have used macs all my life, my dads biusness runs of macs because of there amazing customer service and because they are so user friendly.

Macs customer service is dope.
 
Man.... ipods are not that special. They are mobile hardrives, but tons of people tell me they are shit. They always break, or scratch, just suck. I got my PSP and it rules, it does everything, although it only runs with memory cards, and that sucks, still rules the Ipod. If i would buy an MP3 player i would either buy a Creative, or just some random USB MP3 player. They don't freeze, or skip under extream conditions.

I still hate the mac commercials.. they are basically stating that PCs are dinosaurs and Mac are the cool hip thing.. apple is a fad and will fade out to just another computer company once microsoft makes an ipodesque mp3 player that will run windows and be a phoen and hook up a keyboard and take pictures... (its coming)

 
Perhaps if you buy an office load worth of computers. I've had nothing but problems with every apple product I've owned and every apple associate I've ever dealt with.
 
As for customer service.

My powerbook recently died on me. I went to an Apple store and they reseated the ram and fixed it for about 3 hours. As soon as I got home the same thing happened. Then I took it back to an Apple store and they said I'd have to send it in to apple. The people at both stores were super helpful and I really liked the Genius Bar thing. So the second guy told me to call apple and have them send me a box to send the computer to apple. So I go home, back up my shit and call apple. I was happy to find that I wasn't talking to someone in India and I could understand the guy. I was unhappy that he forced me to go through all the troubleshooting bullshit I went through at both apple stores already when I made it clear that I had been to two apple stores. So other than 45 minutes on the phone just getting them to send me a box I've been happy with apples service.

Sorry for the 3 posts but they all addressed different issues so I figured it would make more sense in 3 posts than 1.
 
my PC crashed 6 different times.... i lost all my music photos videos and everything all 6 times.... my mac has yet to crash.... you can go to any site nad not get a virus.... macs are MUCH better
 
stop lookin at gay porn and you wont get all that spam and viruses..

also.. have a firewall and internet security suite installed.. duh..

If you be nice and know how to use a PC, it is fine, I haven't had any problems. And yes, for editing and all that, a PC is just as good as a mac these days.
 
are you serious? you've been watching too many apple propaganda commercials, and that line in them about deleting all the preloaded softwear, well guess what macs come with a bunch of crap programs on them too.
 
exactly what Static said. You have been watching too many Apple commercials. The only PCs that don't come ready out of the box are ones that you build yourself(another downfall of Macs, you can't build your own). I'd like for you to explain how that is 'rarely the case'.
