hey so i have an HF M30 camcorder and it makes AVCHD or MTS. files and i want to edit them on i movie. but how do i convert them so that they will work? thanks.

either upgrade editing systems and get fcp or adobe premier

or

get a program called "clipwrap" and you can convert mts files with it

I used cuneiform neoscene once, i don't have at though, but it was pretty cool because it allows you to convert mts files and h.264 (canon dslr/gopro files) together and put them out into the same format. pretty useful tool if you are doing a lot of projects with both formats

I have that same camera and I edit in imovie with it. The files for me import fine without any conversion. Just make sure Imovie is already running before you plug it in. And once you plug it in. A little log and transfer box should appear. If its not then click the small video camera button above the timeline.

Hope this helps.

and i have another super dumb question, when i upload the video to youtube it is only in 480p. how do i upload it to 720p or 1080p ? thanks
