why are mac users such cocky bastards?? seriously, everytime i encounter someone with a mac and they see my pc they just have to rip on it and say how much better their mac is. wtf??? its personal preference, bitches. i dont want to hear about how good your mac is anymore. and told tell me i'm just jealous. i'm just sick of it...
 
i agree, theyre really stuck up about it sometimes. but macs can be really nice for certain things...its not a big deal though.
 
It's because for those people the mac is a status symbol, just like a nice car or a cup of expensive french coffee. They need it to feel good about themselves.

I have a mac but I'll be the first to say that macs and PCs are pretty much equivalent in every way. They even have the same CPUs now. If you like the way macs look, buy one, but it won't make much of a difference to the way you use your computer.
 
i dont mean to generalize all mac users cuz some of them dont do that. but there are plenty of them who do...
 
YES!! Every person that i talk to and they say "PC sucks, Mac is better" then i ask them why? and they will just say because they run better, look better, and everything works. Those are the normal answers i get.

For all you PC haters..... Why are Macs better? Please tell me why.
 
Not all of them are cocky I'm just sick of people jumping on the bandwagon saying macs are better because they are too retarded to not click on the links that say "You've won a prize Click here to claim it". Its like a bright light for bugs. If people would smarten up then they wouldn't have a problem. Macs and windows are very similar. They have their strenghts and weaknesses.
 
you can run windows on Macs...im not stuck up about macs at all, just dont really see the reason NOT to get one if you primarily use your computer for video/music type stuff anyway
 
i think this all comes from the root problem when Mac was a serious underdogg and not deemed popular or coool at all by popular society. before those first colour imacs came out, mac uesers had to feircely defend thier platform and stick up for thier computers if they believed in them.  So a bunch of that mentality has carried through into this new generation of mac users.     At leats thats where i see it comming from, cuz i have always had macs, and i'm not stuck up about ti now, but in the early years i always had to defend the mac a  lot.  Now it doens't matter, a computard is a computard is a computard.  they all waste your time. haha. 
 
dude my mac book kills ur fuckin pc, for two reasons 1 because i can run all the same programs u can on my laptop, and 2 my computer has never crashed.

but whatever floats your boat!!!!!!!
 
Why does running the same programs make it better? Wouldn't it make it the same? Also, my computer has never crashed and I've seen people's mac's crash all the time. Also to the guy who said you can run windows on a mac so why not upgrade, well why upgrade when you can run all the same programs? I don't see how having a rounded looking computer makes your graphics and video editing any better.
 
i have a mac they are better at tihing that pc cant do as well same thing other way aound. mac can make better movies. photo shop, faster, no viruses, and there fast as hell (for the most part). pc they are good too just to manyviruses, kinda slow, microsoft office is better that what apple has but u can get office on apples now.

i think mac is better but w/e
 
the Macbook pro rock, Mac OSX is very overated, XP is very underated, and you can run both on a macbook

Ipod+Itunes Rocks, ZUNE hardware rocks+ zune software sucks = Zune not that good yet.

Zune/Ipod war put on hold until better software gets better. temporary winner: Ipod+ Itunes

Once again someone posting about something they don't understand. Avid is a pc based program that is the industry standard in the movie making business. I've used macs and the difference in speed has nothing to do with being a mac, its all about power. I've never had a virus and macs are expoited more than pc's now anyway. You do know office is made by the company that makes windows which you're ragging on right? There are also tons of other os's out there that are free, no viruses and run faster than windows or mac os.
 
Bingo. That thing is all about ease of use...it doesnt do anything that phenomenal but the way Apple makes the user experience so smooth and sexy and intuitive takes the quality of the product to a new level.
 
Here is why I think macs are better than PCs. You can disagree if you want. If anyone pulls any bullshit about the one button mouse I'll shit on your face. Macs have been able to right click with two button mice for at least 10 years.

Reason 1: OS X is easier to use. (personal preference)

Reason 2: Software. Anything your PC can do my mac can do as well and probably better. Even Microsoft Office for Mac is WAY better than the windows version. (Except some games, but most PCs can't handle those games anyway)

Reason 3: All macs are high end. Even the cheapest mac you can buy is still a solid computer.

Reason 4: Spyware and viruses are few and far between on the mac. This is mostly because not as many people have macs. I'm sure it'll become a bigger problem in time.

Reason 5: I don't know if you've been watching tv lately but according to the commercials mac users are hip and cool while pc users are slightly overweight and balding. (haha kidding)

the reasons i love my macbook:

it always works (read: i havent had to troubleshoot anything since i got it). it takes 2 seconds to do anything besides run MSoffice programs (which is because i have an old version of MSoffice and it has to run through rosetta). spotlight, which is apparently still much better than vista's search. it has tons of free, good software (www.macupdate.com). so many reasons...

issues:

no milkdrop for macs. games (on the other hand i do more homework now).
 
They are just as fast as PCs because now they run on the exact same hardware. They used to be slower, however. :(

Viruses are the only legitimate difference, and maybe if you prefer the mac os. However, I've used my current PC for 5 years and have not once got a virus on it.

Spyware, yes, but that's not a big deal to get rid of.
 
dude the people who start fights over mac vs. pc are the same people who hate on snowboarding... there shouldnt be an argument they each have their strengths and weaknesses. i strongly prefer macs but that doesnt mean i care what anyone else buys
 
i have a pc and i want a mac but i don't see why my neighbor has to inform me about apple everytime i see him. I understand they are awesome.
 
I am a huge mac fan, but they are virtually the same computer now, with the exception of the operating system. The only legit argument other then the os is the cpu (ppc chip) in the older mac, which has its positives and negatives just like the intel chip. It really depends on what you are doing with the comp. What really bugs me is when you get someone who is raving about how good their macbook pro is for editing; A) they are usually first time mac owners who really have no idea and B) its the same fucking chip as in a pc. You can't tell me that it renders any faster or is better. Sure you have final cut pro, which is an extremely good program, but atleast back up your argument. I could go on forever about the pro and cons of macs and pcs, their is so much to debate.

so i have clint my ipod, charlie my macbookpro, winchester my truck and clayton my i730 nextel.

MAC = MOTHER OF ALL COMPUTERS

PC = PIECE OF CRAP
 
i haven't turned my macbook pro off in a month and it still runs perfectly. show me a windows computer that can do that and i'll respect it. but then i'll wipe my ass with it.
 
also I haven't had my PC crash in years except when I've been intentionally doing weird memory hacks in video games. My mac crashed just this morning...
 
macs are so much better

the OS is amazing.

the only thing windows has on mac is cheeper prices. macs are way overpriced.

plus microsoft office owns iwork

i've been using macs my whole life, we actually have one of the first macs ever made. I've been using them for so long i just think they're easier cause thats all im used to, im sure PC's are good though
 
For those of you mac users who say that macs are faster i really have a hard time believing that after the experience i've had with my roomates mac. The few times i've tried and used it I could not handle it because it was not only slow on the internet but in pretty much every way imaginable.
 
im in the exact same boat as you. macs have been in my world since forever, and i have been picked on cause of that. Now, i guess i get a chance to reply with seriousness, and honestly i dont dislike pcs, i just find them too different since i've never seriously used one.

it only takes time to get used to the computer you have.

ya not at all. macs are still better for editing, but i dont think mac is significantly better overall than PC or vice versa.
 
how are they better at making movies cause they have final cut? pc has avid, premier, and vegas. faster is stupid because both pc and macs use most of the same processors memmory and drives. i have never had a virus.
 
i never turn my pc off unless i have to, which is like once a week, but its usually because i have downloaded a new game/program that requrires a reboot.
 
it really didnt copy the mac os. if anything mac copied windows, if anyone else remembers the old mac os's from like 1996, they were just a copy of windows nt, and then windows 95 came out and suddenly apples os became more like windows 95. but windows has also taken some of macs ideas, if they didnt they would be stupid. the companys have used each others ideas so much thats its hard to tell who even came up with what anymore, which is why they are so similar.
 
sorry about the 4 posts its just that these debates really anger me because most people dont know all of the facts. the truth is i run mainly on a pc, but at school edit compleatly with a mac. and even recomended a mac for my mother and sister, not because there hot shit and some comercial told me too, but because it was in there case, cheaper(for once), and made sense for them. now i dont think i will ever fully switch to an apple os because of the lack of game support, but i do like it.

and no i have never crashed my pc or had a virus.
 
while that may be true, we we're both connected via the same wireless internet and his computer was noticeably slower than mine at loading every page. I dont know much about computers, but I don't really know what that could be attributed to besides the computer itself, whether its because of the processing speed or whatever it doesn't really matter.

why does it matter apple can do better things than windows..... windows can do better things than apple they are both good.... i know everyone is going to yell at eachother still... its like coke and pepsi they are both good people just prefer one of em or both just get over it both are great at their own things
