so i bought a new hard drive (320GB) for my macbook and got it today. so i backup my computer on my external hard drive, with the app SuperDuper!, and then put the new hard drive in my computer. close it all up. and turn on my computer. and so now im on it, but completely running off the external hard drive. the new hard drive doesn't have an operating system so Macintosh HD doesn't exist. compeletly fucked this up. thought it would work better. please help me. a.s.a.p.

thanks

yo you need to get your system folder / system preferences on the new harddrive along with the option "startup disk" that is where you can find the OS.

yea, im pretty sure that you need a software disc to install. Kinda like you need windows Vista to make windows run. Call mac, there customer service is probubly really helpfull, and could sort it out.

yeah i think im gonna need the cd from mac...or find one.

right now i partioned the internal hd, and formated it for Mac OS extended. in the midst of copying all my stuff onto it. not sure if itll work. but hopefully

if not ill find a cd.

thanks for the help
