Mac or Pc?

now with bootcamp, there's no real reason to buy a PC over a Mac, except that mac computers are more expensive.

But for OS purposes, why would you go with only Vista on a PC when you can have both on your mac ?
 
7 macs in my house. 2 are mine. don't get a mac if you only use it for internet/itunes/word. if you're in that boat,save your money, get a pc. all of that awesome should go towards something that requires skill(editing/graphics/mixing/etc.)
 
macs are way better for everyone. but the price difference isn't worth it for everyone. if you are a casual computer use, than a mac may not be worth the extra dough. but if you are on your comp all the time, get a mac.
 
i went to get a macbook today, and the fucking line was the entire top floor of the mall, i forgot today was the 1st day the new 3g iphone came out, and i was ufcking pissed cuz i realy wanted it today!!!
 
PC and I will never go MAC. I need a PC for running engineering programs.

Oh and just like you can run Vista on a mac you can run mac os x on a pc now

Plus Vista is a sick OS
 
mac for sure they never get really screwed up. my dad has a mac from like the 70's and its black a nd white. and it still runs great. for what it is worth in the 70's
 
vista sucks dude, i only use it when i'm playing Games for Windows, cause gates is a dick and he won't let anybody play his games on anything except vista.
 
i was. Its a lot more secure than xp, and i've personally never had a problem with it, as long as you have a computer to match its fine
 
i was wondering, where exactly did you get this info from? btw, before vistas launch, microsoft put on an event to show off vista and it's security abilities. they invited hackers from around the world to see if they could crack it. cocky bastards thought that vista was unbeatable, sorry to say it was cracke din under three minutes by five of the two dozen or so hackers.
 
its not that hard to find by doing a quick google search. nothing is unbeatable, i didn't say it was, i simply said vista was more secure than xp
 
except for the fact that every hacker on the planet would rather hack a vista pc than an xp one right now. meaning it's safer to run xp right now. btw i'm a whitehat with blackhat friends, and i can tell you right now that they are not hacking anyone running xp.
 
i have a mac and PC at home, and recently bought my laptop for college. I didnt get mac because as far as notebooks go they dont have much selection. There is the macbook which is less powerful than the mac I have now, and the the pro ( and I'm not getting a computer that starts at 2,000)( and im not even including the air because of how impractical it is.) I just got a sony Vaio and couldnt be more happy with it so far

Does a pc come with 8 cores of processing, 4 hd video cards, and up to 32 gigs of ram?

for the average person a pc is fine. graphics video and nething in that area is way better on a mac.
and the apple hd monitors are nice as well.

how many sick third party apps are for Mac? for PC?

how much can you customize the parts on your Mac? oh yea, you cant. what about a PC? hell you can build your own PC from scratch, just the way you want it.

how much does a Mac cost? definately a lot more than a PC with the same specs.

people say that macs are superior because they cant get viruses, but there are a few and its only a matter of time before there are more. if you have good protection and you arent retarded, you wont get a virus on a PC. i download tons of shit and havent had any problems.

oh but macs are so stylish and shiny!

well...its your choice...but personally i would go with the PC
 
your reasons are only if you plan on being a hard core gamer. not for normal uses, pc might be better for word, but it was said before, mac runs everything for pc betterr"(vista/xp and what not just not games)
 
is there a point to this thread? its obvious you should get a mac because like some one said they do everything better and if you are a hardcore gamer they run windows too so you can still play all your games
 
If you want a gaming computer, go for a PC. If you want something more directed towards multimedia and a more reliable machine, go for a Mac.
 
He wasn't talking about hard drive, MEMORY my friend, ram. 32gb of ram is absurd, computer back 6 or 7 years ago had about 200mb or less. And no computer 6-7 years ago had 8 cores and 4 hd card. Good try tho, you really did a good job of talk about something that you had no idea about.
 
yeah, but ure paying up to 25000€ for a mac pro like that ;-)

back to topic, as said above, if you dont need your computer ONLY for games, go for a mac. I wasnt sure for about half a year and I bought my macbook pro 4 days ago, and Im sooo happy with it!!! I got a good pc at home, and I havent started it for the last 4 days...

oh, yeah, you can customize your pc far better than your mac, but, you dont have to customize your mac. everything is right in place...
 
dont just say mac guys. it depends on what hell be using his computer for. if you need it for anything other than music/video/editing stuff, a pc is better. they are better for work and for school things, but if you want it for music or video editing, go with a mac.
 
mac bro. less chances w/ viruses and has sick stuff. but it also is harder to run software on it (not just games, i couldnt find winrar for my friends mac) i have PCs, but my friend has a mac.
