Mac miller

Pretty sure that mac miller HATE is more of a bandwagon thing. seriously, give me a legit reason why you dislike him. i remember 18 months ago when everyone on here thought he was the dopest rapper ever. he got popular because his music is really fuckin good, ns just severerly dislikes mainstream things
 
a legit reason? how about he has no diversity in his music or that his delivery and flow are subpar? every song of his is about money, girls, and smoking weed.
 
HAHAHAHA do you truly believe that?!?! why do all mac miller fans think they can hop on the "you don't like him because he's mainstream" bandwagon? saying that doesn't excuse you for liking his music and negate what we are saying about him-he still sucks whether you like him or not. anyone who likes mac miller clearly doesn't have the credibility to judge other hip-hop artists as good or bad. that whole mainstream argument you all pull out so often is beat dude. you could not possibly be in tune with what is really good in hip-hop and then tell us you still prefer mac miller. and if you really knew a lot of other quality choonz and still chose mac, you would just have really shitty taste in hip-hop, plain and simple.
 
how are his delivery and flow subpar? it's just different to you, and you don't like that. lots of other people do, including me. and yea, most of his songs are about those things, but so what? he raps about them in clever ways. i will say that he's super overrated, which gives him a lot of hate.

i just realized that this argument is pointless, it's just a matter of your opinion. it just angers me when i see the ignorance of people that say he's the worst rapper ever and everyone likes him just to hop on the bandwagon.
 
the fuck are you talking about? i'm not making any excuses, i like his music. don't judge man. i have good taste in hip hop, it's just that this is a rapper i like that is still alive/making good music. so i support him.
 
That is the absolute worst logic ever. We're talking hip hop, not classic rock. There's only a handful of hip hop artists who have died who made it big. Biggie, Tupac, Mac Dre, ODB... most of the best are still kickin it.

Go listen to Zion I, Blackalicious, Mr. Lif, Blue Scholars, THe Roots, Macklemore, anybody from the Living Legends, Dilated Peoples, Chali 2na, Common Market, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, Sweatshop Union, Hierogliphics, Eyedea and Abilities (alright, Eyedea died), Cunninlinguists, MF Doom, Binary Star, Apathy, Mos Def, Pharaohe Monch, or 100's of other more talented artists out there for you to discover.
 
When did I ever say I was a fan? Ever? Nor am I "proud" that I have never heard of PUTS. I don't care. I don't care so much that I have yet to listen to them throughout the whole argument. still have no desire.

i just cannot understand why you would not care about learning some awesome new choonz instead of being stuck with mac miller and other supbar hip-hop. it kind of sounds like you're saying this just to spite me. that sounds like something i would have said back in high school. when we hate on mac miller, we really just want to help you out of your musical rut. a mac miller fan, not saying you specifically, usually does not have the knowledge to to know there's better stuff out there, proven by the fact they still listen to mac miller. i guess i should be more helpful in the future and give you some suggestions. here are a few artist i recommend checking out:

I don't know why everyone is comparing right now, I know there are plenty of better artists. I just think mac miller is dope. You guys should just try enjoying his music. Don't listen to whatever the fuck other people say.

I can't lie, I like a few Mac Miller songs. But honestly I think he is up there with Lil Wayne on song substance. I don't think I've ever heard him rhyme about anything other then weed, parties, and "bitches". I don't hate on Mac fans, but I do try to help them out like a few of you guys did. Because they weren't off when they compared his fans creativity to his. Aside from maybe 4-5 people I know, everyone that I've met who likes him is a total sheep. And they are usually uninteresting people if they aren't drunk/high... Well they are still lame then as well. But as other people have said, listen to something like Cenospecies, P.O.S. , Army of The Pharaohs, Gangstarr, Mob Deep, Mos Def, Zion I, etc. Go look up The Brothers Grim on facebook/soundcolud. Just look outside the box for hip-hop. Cookie Cutters are best used for cookies, not music.
 
Sounds like a great show. I enjoy both PUTS and Mac.

Basically these days it goes like this in NSG when talking about hip hop. If a rapper is mainstream, they suck. If they are 'underground' they're good unless they somehow become mainstream... in which case they suck.

If they are mainstream but they are dead (biggie/tupac), then they can still be cool. The end.

This. Who really cares about popularity? Wu, Dre, Snoop, etc... Those guys are multi-platinum selling artists, but pretty much everyone listens to them for one reason... They're the real deal. So artists can become popular without losing credability. People don't hate on Mac Miller for being popular, but because his music is about as passionate and creative as cardboard. Stoned cardboard...

I have heard that he is horrible live. A friend saw him at Soundset and told me that he just signs along to his own songs not a instrumental the actual song.
 
I've listened to (nearly) every single one of them. I have to say I've loved songs by zion I and blue scholars and many others and find that most of their stuff sounds the same, WHICH IS MY OPINION. I really like Mac Miller also, just like the flow and his beats...BUT THAT IS MY OPINION. Some people hate him and say the same shit about him. Music is all about personal opinion. Obviously some people like them... You can't just say someone is flat out better than someone else, unless you're talking about Biggie.

So last night i went to the sold out show in seattle to see the PUTS (who fuckin killed it) and had to put up with whack miller fans hating on them during their set... fuckin kids know nothing about hip hop... but anyway i was going in expecting Mac to suck but to be honest he was good live. Seemed like a real dude on stage. Only thing not dope about the show was a group of four dudes from oakland who did some weird popping shit while some lil-b soundalike song was playing. wacky as hell
 


This is all my opinion. But this song is sick as hell... Might not have deep meaning but its about just enjoying life, real motherfucking shit right here. This SHIT RIGHT HERE NIGGAAA. Sure he raps about weed and girls, but thats what myself and many other white kids can relate to. and is beats are on point and i enjoy them, so gtfo. yes i am mad. and high. okay bye.
 
yeah thats the problem even at shows like Mac, Big Sean and J Cole, (these supposed mainstream artists that only trendy people like) 75% of the crowd has probably only heard 5-7 of their most popular songs and get upset when those songs aren't happening no matter who or what is on stage
 
Get what? You're a white kid who listens to a bunch of guys who fake being hard so kids like you listen to their shit and think that they are being all cool and non-mainstream. JMT and ATP all suck. They are granted great writers but lack the ability to make their music listenable. They are all as fake as it gets. Vinnie Paz is a fucking 40 year-old war veteran. You can't call anybodies music gay because it's just their preference. Music can't be better than other music, just different.
