Mac Miller

yeah, whenever i'm in the mood to hear some tool rap about absolutely nothing to boring beats i throw on some mac miller or sammy adams, hits the spot
 
in the "white rapper" group...yeah really. Mac Miller blows compared to the other two. Who gives a fuck if they're not "deep lyrics". They're entertainers, not goddamned philosophers. It's decent party music, party lyrics, with a beat that most people like, that's it. It can't be THAT worthless, being they're all doing college shows nationwide. I do listen to mostly dubstep remixes by Sam Adams though, it's different than what most of his fans listen to. Idk maybe I just like it because I see music as a form of art and its how people express themselves, and each different person does it their own way. But then again there's not much music I don't like....I listen to everything from Sam Adams to Alan Jackson to Dave Mathews Band to Metallica to James Morrison to The Cars to Gwar to.... I think you get the point. Curious...what kind of music do you like? If rap, what rappers?
 
favorite type of music to listen to and to play- blues and jazz. especially les paul, who is my all time favorite artist. as far as rap, it's just the whole white college party scene that i find incredibly stupid. that and i can't stand wiz khalifa or kid cudi (rapping about smoking weed and being inspirational? isn't that a bit paradoxical). most recent rap is freaking awful . it's all about pac, biggie, grand master flash and the 5, nas and mob deep, de la soul and ice cube. big pun and a tribe called quest,, run DMC and DMX. the roots ft john legend is one of my favorite albums ever. 90s > any thing created recently.
Although i do like the scholars and macklemore + a few other of the seattle kids. also nas puts out some gear. also a guy named "laws" has been real dope recently
 
im sorry to be such a hater in this thread but that is the dumbest thing ive heard all day. 90% of the artists you praised smoked more weed than you can imagine. a jazz musician who thinks smoking weed is paradoxical to inspiration, now ive seen it all...
 
i like him i mean why not theres no reason to hate people just have different opinions when it comes to music its all just personal preferance so i think its pointless to try to change peoples thoughts on music choice by saying "mac sucks" or something stupid like that, on the other hand i do appreciate well thought out and well written responses that gives solid reasons on why you dont like him and why

I can't stand forced singing accents. If you're black and raised in the hood, it's okay to speak and sing like a black person from the hood. But, when suburban white kids take the African American vernacular English and apply it to their own "rapping", it annoys the shit out of me. The only mainstream white rapper that can get away with it is Eminem.
 
Forced accents? you don't understand music then. most of them don't force it upon them selves, they work on it and get skills in doing what they do. and really? Mac miller doesn't have a black hood accent. if anything he sounds white. and Eminem can suck my dick, he sucks when i have my music full blast and im listen to one of Dr. Dres songs then Eminem is in his song i have to turn it down cuz it hurts to listen to, like really..
