ALright so i need some help with my mac book. When the mac app store came out i updated and never ended up getting it for some reason. I thought it was weird but did not really care since i had no real need for it. However i really want to get it now and even if i update my comp it still doesnt show up. The reason i want the mac app store is so i can update from imovie to final cut x, however without it i cannot do it.

Any help is appreciated

And though it is inevitable please do not let this turn into yet another mac vs. pc shit storm to soon

Try running another software update or try finding the original software download online. It shouldn't be too hard. If not, call apple and they will walk you through it.

ya try updating it again then dont do anything

the update happens while its restarting just leave it alone for a wile then when it reboots it should be there,

good luck

It's not in the Applications Folder? Have you tried searching for "App Store" in case it somehow ended up in a weird location?

You could also try to buy it by going through the website and seeing if it prompts you for an install of the App Store or something:

its saying i have to use the mac app store. But i have mac os x 10.5.8 and it is saying i have to update to snow leopard for 30$.

dam i guess i will have to. And i guess i will have to get lion or tiger or whatever the next one is called in a couple weeks.

You can likely find an iso for snow leopard on a torent site. Apple isn't like Microsoft. There is no serial number or anything of that sort required to do the update. You just need to make a dvd or save it to a hard drive and boot from cd/harddrive and update to snow leopard that way.

And purchasing final cut pro is the better option. Someone will probably suggest torrent, but I find the need to upgrade and update worth the cost. Hopefully you can get education pricing.
