i'm looking at a new mac book and i'm trying to decide between 2gb and 4gb of ram, it's the black one so 2.4 ghz, 250gb hard drive, yada yada yada
i don't know if it's worth the extra 180 bucks to get the extra 2 gigs. i use the computer for photo editing, word processing, ns'ing, dvd copying, some gaming but not really, music stuff, and basic computer use. i know macs well and i notice little things in speed and processing but i'm using a computer now that's only 1gb of ram and 2.0 ghz
i'm jw what call to make and if it's worth it, i'm especially looking for help from you mac guru's like nomen but anyone's help is appreciated, thanks and possible karma if you give good reasons

well the more RAM the better, but I get by just fine with 2gb on my macbook pro. But I don't have photoshop yet and don't do much editing, just a lot of music stuff. I would say if you plan on having many apps open at once then get 4gb, if not 2gb should do you right.

hope that helps a bit. I'm not that great with comps but I know a bit

I didn't really suggest anything, so you should just get it with 2gb ram, and then, if you feel like you're running a bit slow, buy more memory from that site I posted.

yeah dude don't get the memory upgrade from apple if you look on crucial you can get the 4g stick for 85 bucks, if you look around you might even find it cheaper somewhere.

yeah but the 2gb of ram is 2 1gb chips whereas the 4gb is 2 2gb chips so i'd have to get 2 new 2gb chips for the comp

i don't see the need for that post! i have a mac and i like them better, you have a pc and you like them better, over
