i dont want to make a huge controversy, and i dont want to sound like a retard, but in sublect to change, evan raps lays out a huge d-spin seven, if you look at it in slow motion, there is a point about 3/4 of the way through where he is so layed out that he could land switch and it would be a d-spin 540.

Couldnt a backflip 540 be considered a dspin 5? Actually Dirty, I think I remember you saying something along those lines at Tyrol during the pond jump thing. I can see it both ways, like an inverted cork 5 could be kind of a dspin but more underflip. Who knows I guess its how you look at it.

you could say 'if he landed it at this time it would be a ...' alot. like for instace in sm3 the trailer candide cork 5 looks level off at 3, essently he could land it at 3 but he is still like 300+ feet in the air..

no it's not a corked 5.. a d-spin is an inverted cork. so it's a corked 180 to front. basically you drop one shoulder back and end it with a front. which is the same description for an underflip.

yeah, you could call it a d-spin 5, but it'd more likely be called an underflip ....and for whoever asked if it would be the same as a backflip 5, no it wouldnt...becuase if you put a d-spin 7 on axis it's like a backflip 3...so a d-spin 5 would be like a back 180, or corked 180 to frontflip, or underflip

 
The only time you go inverted in a d-spin 7 is when you backflip out of it to land. At 540 in a d-spin you would not have gone inverted. It would just be a cork 5. Why confuse things and call it a d-5 when it is clearly a corked 540. Not that it really even matters, call it whatever the hell you want.

 
i agree with that...but in order to get totally inverted you need to throw the whole trick differently right from the start...their really close in what you do and how they look, but i still think they deserve different names...it's like a misty 5 and that front 180 thing mcconky does...similar rotation different trick

Dirty is right, its an underflip. I do 'em on the trampoline. Watch Vinnie in the 2001 U.S. Freeskiing open or Tanner in the 2002 U.S. Freeskiing open and you'll see what looks like a d-spin 540 but it's called an underflip.

Ya know what, there is no such trick as a fucking d-spin 540. Jesus christ, why the hell are people talking about a d-spin 540, its not even a goddamn trick.

In order to do a d-spin 540 you would have to land on your head. An underflip is not a d-spin 540, its an underflip. Why the hell would you call an underflip a d-spin 540 thats just fucking stupid and confusing.

Howdy folks, lets quit fighting over the names of tricks. I see it as what you call it is part of your personal style. There are slight differences between a dspin 5, a cork 5, and an underflip. I say if you know the difference, call it what you think, edpecially if you just stuck one.

what makes a 180 turn to 540 just because theres a flip, a flip doesn't could as rotation, so there is no such thing as a underflip 540 it'd just be a rodeo, or a d-5

Dspin 540's are possible, you just have to set up for the trick different. Instead of a misty or rodeo, look back, like you ar gonna do a back flip. lean left and drop your right shoulder to the left, look around to the left, and tuck and there you have it a Dspin 540. You landing comes into veiw and it is easy to stomp. The are easier than rodeos or misty I think. I got a movie clip of one on the tramp if anyone wants to see it.
