MA is rediculous

two nights ago, i was going 55, in a 35. I got a ticket, and im just like "fuck, this sucks" but i wasnt gonna fight it because i deserved it and such, and he lowered the ticket so that it said i was only going 45. So the ticket came out to be 150....o well. But then i find out, that because im a junior operator, my lisence is going to be suspened for 90 days, and in order to get it back, I have to take SCARR(state courts against road rage) and pay a 500$ fee to get my lisence reinstated. I also have to take the written driving test again.....any tips on apealing this?
 
happened to my friend man. just go to court and be nice, dress up and all. my friend did that and he only lost the license for 90 days (he also had a kid in the car when he couldn't drive with other people- this was in MA by the way). best of luck!
 
also, act like you know what you did was wrong and all that, make them know that you know you fucked up
 
you have a written test? in maine, you only have a written test for your permit, then a driving test for your lisence. you might be able to do community service or something instead of paying $500, but im not sure about that.
 
i think he is saying that it was only 90 days and he didnt get the fines and reinstatment thing... MA is so gay though i cant believe it. you make one mistake about going a little fast and your fucked.
 
hate to break it to ya bud, you really cant do anything to stop you from losing your license. they are wicked strict about it now. so you probably are going to have to take the class pay the 500$ which is redic, and take the test. you got a break with the ticket, you coulda been arrested for driving to endager for going 20 over the limit. its fucking sick to be 18! good luck though
 
why dont u suck it up and jsut lose your license... you WERE going 55 in a 35 so completely over the limit on that one. Then you say MA is ridiculous yet the cop gave you a break? i dunno man, just live with it.
 
haha motherfucker, i live in MA and i got arrested two weeks after my 18th birthday. i didnt lose shit, nor do i have to pay anything. MA just likes to fuck over minors.
 
that law sucks... for everyone who isn't 18. i guess it's a good idea to get kids from speeding though. luckily i turned 18 right before they made that.
 
Let them know that you know you messed up really bad. Let them know that you are responsible kid, because you get such and such grades and play these sports and you volunteer all the time, etc. But, most importantly, let them know that you have learned from your mistakes and you will not make the same mistake twice. You realized the importance of following traffic laws and will not make that mistake again.

i hate mass drivers so much they piss me off when they come to vermont. either they are going really slow or they are tailgating the fuck out of you. the only way to get them to speed up is by passing them and then they get angry and speed up but then they relize driving in vt is alot harder than mass because of all the shitty roads and crazzy ass curves in the road. and when they are tailgating you you just speed up and do the same thing.

it also pisses me off when i am at the mountian and i hear some flatlander complaing how they got a speeding ticket on there way up here. all you do is simpily slow down in the places cops might be like in 25mph and 35mph zones and you usually wont have a problem.
 
And he is right flatlanders suck. They always tailgate you in the winter when the roads are shitty. But its cool i got passed and the guy that passed me ended up flipping his car a mile down the road. But this time of the season is worst. The leaf peepers. 30 miles an hour in a 50 is ridiculous. It almost takes 15 minutes more to get home from school sometimes. Which is bad when you live 40 minutes away.
 
actually, i was serious. its a good name, unfortunately, i live on the coast, where it is flat. but i live in maine (where there are alot of mountains) not mass, so i dont think i would be considered a flatlander.
 
yeah im a faltlander, but more than half of my family lives up in VT so im up there alot. but not all people from MA drive like assholes. its just the ones that do really fuck up so we all get a bad rep.
 
Tis indeed. Most of the 413 cops are total dicks and pull over pretty much anyone speeding. Unless you know someone who is on the force, you're pretty much screwed.
 
I bought my car off my mother and i never took off the fire department plates on it so all the cops know the car and dont really care. It also helps if you have a vermont plate.
 
MA fucking sucks, they are basically doing everything to try and get u to not have ur license until ur 18. if they could pass it they would make u wait till ur 18
 
well thats gay. You can get it the day you turn 16 in VT. I beleive in midwest states you can get it as early as 15? can anybody confirm?
 
well just be greatful they didn't hike the driving age like they were planning on doing, and it's to prevent minors from killing themselves, i speed all the time, yet i have never not once gotten into an accident or a ticket for speeding, it's only speeding that they'll suspend your licence for, but you did fuck up, and i doubt you didn't know the ruling about that seeing as it's been in place for the last year and was all over the news so you knew the punishment and decided to speed anyway, your fuck up, not their, but appeal it, it doesn't hurt to appeal and it's worth a shot
 
what time of day was it? if it was late you can say you were tying to get home before curfew, i did that and got a verbal warning do 50 in a 25. and if it is your first ticket then appeal it. what town was it in?
 
yeah you really cant say that less your from mass, and witness it everyday. plus there are alot more of us in a smaller space than there is in maine. but yeah i have seen some real bad ones
 
if u go in to appeal it just dress up nice like shirt and tie and be respectful and shit.
 
dude no offence, but why didnt you know about that law beforehand? it's a super shitty law, but it's also really easy to get around... by not speeding!!!

they issued that bullshit 2 months before i turned 18, so i drove the speed limit EVERYWHERE. including the highway. it sucked balls, but now i'm 18.. so yahh..

sorry anyways though, that sucks
 
FUCK CHELMSFORD POLICE!

they have to be some of the most obnoxious, fat prick cops in the country. All they do is bust teenagers since nothing else ever happens in chelmsford. and the worst part is, they just hired 15 new cops out of the academy and now theres always an extra 5 cops on duty no matter what time of day....fucking gay!
