ok well i just had my first M.R.I and it was the most stressful thing ever. im claustrophobic (sP) and hate needles both of which are involved and then loud noises are thrown in the mix and its horrible. on top of it all now i might need surgery on my shoulder.

well thats my rant for the day thanks for listening

for future reference, if you tell them your claustro they will give you a shot of valium to chill you out.

are you kidding? I can see if youre clausterphobic maybe, but they're not bad at all. Maybe a little boring laying ther for 30-40 mins. And why did they have needles I've had at least a dozen mri's and never heard of needles being involved

I think they inject some sort of dye into your bloodstream to see the path of the blood vessels, or if you tore something.

I hate those things

i would start sleeping and then the noises would freak me out and i didnt know if i was awake or not

That is true about the needles. They do inject dye into you to see your blood flow. But it isn't that bad, and i'm afraid of needles. also the noise isn't too bad but when i went to get mine done they had sirius satelite radio that i got to listen to. I wish i knew that before so i didn't pick a shitty station. overall the procedure wasn't that bad but they were only looking at my head so it might be different for other body parts.
