M&A stoke

Used an opteka stabiliazer for the first time today filming. Stoked with the results, glad I spent 1/4 of a glidecam and get similar results. Also got a big LED light for my camera, which is definitely a bonus to have.

Will do man! I think I'll try and put a review of it on here just for shits. I'd love to pick up the 56mm for bokehlicious portraits and 23mm to fill the gap between 14mm and 35mm but my wallet will be sufficiently dented for the next little while.

Since the A7 has come out RX1 prices have plummeted to about $ 1.7K or € 1.2K for pristine secondhand pieces.

Great full-frame sensor with a perfectly mated 35mm f2.0 Zeiss lens in a mini body.

I'm seriously tempted by it...

^1.7k is pretty steep for a fixed lens camera imo. Though, if you have an affinity to the 35mm focal length I can see it being worthwhile.

Also, not nessisarily stoke but I am pretty intrigued to have heard this from mirrorless rumours:

"LaVidaLeica got an official invitation for a Leica event in Berlin (see image on top). I am pretty sure they will announce the new Leica Mirrorless System which has been developed with Panasonic. The camera and the zooms will be built by Panasonic (and branded as Leica). The prime lenses will be made by Leica.

And it's also save to say that this will NOT be a Micro Four Thirds camera. This will be a completely new Leica system!"

Fuji's x series has pretty much been the only offer in it's little niche so far and this could be the first direct competition to it. Could be really interesting having panny bodies with leica branding. I wonder if because of this these bodies will not have traditional Leica styling.

All of leicas compacts bellow the x are made by panasonic, the digilux series was made by panasonic. This isnt a new partnership by any means. We'll see what happens, I know leica regrets the mini m campaign they did having spoken with the rep, so lets hope they learned from that at least. If body cost can be kept down on this it would be a very interesting system with true german primes. But if you are actually interested at all in shooting leica it makes no sense to not get an M of some kind.

Leica should partner up with Fuji and make delicious babies with Sigma's Foveon sensors.

@Steezy, 35mm as a fixed lens is somewhat versatile do and it is a rather excellent one I rarely shoot any lens longer 50mm so I could probably live with it.

I think...

Havent posted in here in ages but Im pretty damn stoked right now:

-Heli skiing/Heli filming this weekend

-Just ordered Sigma 18-35 1.8

-Big things happening with a new company

That's just what the East Germans needed... a camera so they could go take photos of all the places they couldn't ever go to!

Skied my first real BC line in Jackson yesterday, and got two photos I'm SO stoked about!

Really jelly because I have to come bête is me it Quebec and me girl in Cuba and me staying faithful with a Fuji with no lenses bit on he way though (drunk )

Just got hired on to shoot portraits of a super hot naked chick in a penthouse suite this weekend.

...and there was much rejoicing.

Perhaps, but you're not going to get a much smaller compact with a much better lens on it than that. For what it's used for - street/travel photography - it's amazingly worth it to some.

...still for that price I'd rather have a 6D, D600, X1pro, 2 X100s bodies - one in each colour (because why the fuck not), or a 7D with a Tokina 12-24 F4 and a 24-105L f4 IS

There's always private message, donators forum, FB, flickr, email, twitter and 500px. I'm sure you could share the pictures somehow...

Antistoke:

The left side my my OM-1 body got dented in somehow and is currently holding a roll of Pan F+ hostage. I cant get the door open. For christ sake, I only got to shoot 1 roll with it.

Motherfucker

I was trying to record some stuff over spring break but it looks like I'll be waiting for a switchcraft jack in the mail instead.

Yaaay, i got the door open and the film out...

...With a screwdriver that I had in my car...

...after coming home and missing a shot that I really wanted to get.

well, I'm bummed that I didn't get any money from any sort of insurance company for all of my stolen gear, but I pulled some money out of savings to get kitted up again because I hate traveling without a camera. So I'm stoked on the new gear I do have coming.

New 2 TB Hard Drive

Fuji X20

Dakine Quest 28L Pack

aaaaaaand the one I'm most excited for:

Lawrence's Yashica A

And as an impulse buy when checking out at B&H with rolls of 120 I bought a Holga. Sue me. Should be like Christmas by the time I get off work.

antistoke: hot naked chick in penthouse suite has bailed because of family shit.

either that or she doesn't want to show me her vajay just yet.

and there was much sadness...

Maybe she thought you were a 40 something year old with black plastic framed glasses flannel shirt wearing, moustached serial rapist pretending to be a photographer, otherwise known in the industry as a 'Terry'.

hahahaha Well, she's met me in person...

but for real, her sister's in the hospital down in LA right now. We've rescheduled.

Logan, look what I just found at one of my thriftshops:

And I also bought a super 8 camcorder for 4 bucks for the sole reason that the lens gave me a massive boner:

Received my fuji x-t1 with 35mm & 14mm yesterday. The construction on the 35 is meh in comparison to the gloriously hard-stopping 14 but is still decent. Can't wait to take it out shooting!!! Does anybody have any tips for fuji raw conversions?

Also I got a 24 by 36 metalic print at my local photo shop and got photo of the month! I got a second print for free and another will hang in their shop window. Quite stoked, here's the shot for anybody that's interested:

Super 8 lenses don't cover the m4/3 sensor, so there's a LOT of vignetting going on. Not really worth it.

And Lawrence: screw you. Seriously. I don't know where those thrift-shops of yours are, but in Amsterdam I've never found anything worthwhile...

That reminds me that I need to check the thrift stores here. I'm still waiting on my 15 dollar hassy.

That's actually a true story, one of my friends bought a 500cm with back, waistlevel and lens that worked for 15 dollars.
