M&A stoke

Fair enough, don't want one as much as I like the price to be honest. Plus worthwhile 120 scans at my local lab are stupidly expensive.

then send em to thomas

also. fuckin with this. stoked it finally showed up, been in transit for almost a month.

(the tape on the M9 isn't to be stealthy it's to not rub away the white paint under it)

Antistoke:

I got my film back today and there are very prevalent lines along my frames in a good amount of my shots. If you look on my flickr you can see that most of my film shots have somewhat of lines across them from scanning, but this is much worse.

Towards the end of the roll, the blue lines stop. And they had someone in that day to fix their scanner so my roll could have been the first roll through and the problem corrected itself on the first roll.

I'm kind of getting sick of the faint lines that are always on my scans so I might look for a new shop, but I really like only paying $5 a roll for dev & scan

Stoke-filled week for me, got ridiculously lucky and got this on film:

10k views ain't bad...

And also shot my first edit of the year, happy with the result!

Jay's my boy!

Did some playing around with my dslr today, took my first pics with that in a while. I've been shooting 6400 ISO monochrome, trying to get some really grainy black and white stuff. Also took a bunch of pictures with my new Pentax today which was fun.

Rediscovered some polaroid film as well and that has been great to play around with with my friends.

Probably, they "batch process" c41. Or could it be saliva? This roll was the roll i used to extraxt the leader on another roll and i licked the leader of this roll.

Oh you're the one that signed with Line right? You have a name but I can't remember it. You are talked highly of around the Snow Bowl area.

Ordered Magnum Contact Sheets (Thames&Hudson) and Trent Parke's new book Minutes to Midnight (Steidl, heck yeah). The gift from my parents for my birthday next week, weehoo!

This is anti-stoke, I know.. but I gotta voice it.

Might not pertain much to the dedicated photo guys, but to those who are into video/filmmaking, it's pretty shitty to find out that Indy-Mogul isn't going to be airing on youtube anymore. Which is weird, because I've been watching Indie mogul stuff since I was like 19 or 20 - figuring out how to do DIY builds for different filmmaking projects.

I created so many stupid/hilarious effects for short films I did early on in college, and so many DIY things - like, extendable boom poles, a really shitty but effective camera jib, and all the lamps I still use just by watching BFX and Indy Mogul shit.

Super annoying to see it go, because every now and then it would totally inspire an scriptwriting idea for me just based on some new shit I could DIY. That was especially true in college when I wasn't mostly doing commercial work, but none-the-less.

Either way, super sad to see it go. Plenty of other things on the net now, but it was the first channel of its kind that I watched, and I followed it for a long time. I feel so much smarter from having watched it all this time, too.

hahah signed might be a bit of an exaggeration but yeah. i don't like to put my name in threads for some reason, but it's all over my profile if you wanna look there. thank you though!

Put that is a plexiglass case and put it on your mantle as a "prized possession" that will really just gather dust.

~or~

Use it a lot and be able to enjoy the wear and tear that you put on it. How often do you get that opportunity on a camera that old?

Dear god the Pentax 67 is huge. It is a fucking tank. I was fiddling with it next to a small-ish large format camera and the 67 was almost as big.

I was also comparing it to the relatively small 645 today, but still the RZ an the RB seem to have a more compact shape. The 67 has a very wide and tall body it seems.

But anyways, I was looking into what camera I might get into next. I looked at a Leica M3, a Mamiya 645 and 67, and a few LF cameras. I was especially intrigued by a Large Format folding camera that had an attached rangefinder and I can't remember the name. Anybody know what it might have been?

He fondled My TTL while I fondled his MP. Very cool dude, super nice and gave me some great feedback on my recent street work (which a good deal of hasn't been posted anywhere)

He looks like a pretty cool guy, but I sometimes he's buying too much into the 'deep' stuff. Posting quotes on facebook by I don't know who (he did stop with it I think?). And his analyses from 'the things I learned from...' are always pretty shortsighted.

I've barely seen any work of the guy, but he has made some cool pictures. Why people pay him thousands of dollars for a workshop I don't know though...

Spent break working on a large scale short film and finally finished shooting last night after a few 18 hour days, the most work I have ever done but totally worth it. Then today I got to take the epic and set of Zeiss primes out to play with for a few hours. I basically just shot funny slow motion stuff but still so much stoke!

Ya, that was dope! I haven't looked at our footage yet but I am pretty stoked. We have the primes rented for another day so my boss let me take it out for like an hour and a half just as the light was going. We chopped some wood and blew little bits of cattails around and generally goofed off. The light wasn't great and we were super limited on time but I will post an edit when I get it done. Stoked to use the Red for something other then very structured cinema style shots.

yeah I hear ya. the day we were using it we were supposed to have a two location shoot for a short film but in the morning our actor was hungover and didn't show up so we said screw it lets film random shit. One of these days we're gonna try and get a big jump shoot set up and use it for an edit on the slopes. that or an fs700 another department has lol

Just upgraded to a slightly better Macbook. I had a 2.3ghz i5 MBP, but upgraded to a 13" i7 with 2.9ghz. Not thát much of a difference, but I'm confident it helps. Especially the USB 3 is going to be awesome. Other minor improvements are Intel 4000 graphics, 1600mhz RAM and about 450 cycles less than my old MBP. I'll be installing an SSD where the optical drive as well.

downloaded some new editing effects for FCPX and did some chopping of previously used footage. I'm really stoked on how it looks, and I think I did a pretty good job lining video up with the music and everything. I'm pumped on it.

Richo makes me laugh sometimes, like offering an f3.2 lens or a 43mm, just interesting numbers compared to all the other manufactures

I had to get $600ish of fART schools supplies (see PYLP). B&H is the best! I'd shop locally but I'm not paying $13 for a roll of film thats $5 online. Even with the crap CAD I cant find half the stuff I actually need here anyways. BUT now I can develop all my own 35/120/45 film other than slide!

Cambo, Sinar, and View Graphics; not sure on lenses. I'm thinking I might invest in a Crown or Graphic in the near future though. I want something portable that I can handhold for ski and skateboarding, the studio cameras are a bitch and a half to travel with...
