And Laurens, Tri-x is just the friggin' best. I've got about 70 rolls in the fridge still. You can easily shoot it at 800 without any real loss in shadow detail; at 1600 it still looks really good.
 
ya m645's are the way to go, I would never recomend a broni to someone unless they NEEDED 6x6 and couldnt do a hassy or decent tlr
 
I'm getting it with an 80mm and two backs for $100 in perfect condition, and would really like a 6x6 camera. If I choose to sell it I can easily make the money back and some, Mamiya 645 was actually my second choice but I really want to shoot 6x6, and if I end up not liking it will probably buy a 645 in the end.
 
well there ya go, for $100 it's not bad, just when you consider average going rates for them on ebay/keh

Just bought a Glidecam 2000 Pro for $200 off ebay. Didn't think i was going to be able to afford one so I'm excited.

Has anybody seen an edit with a fisheye on a Glidecam or used a fisheye on a Glidecam? I'm trying to decide if I should buy a 11-16mm or stick with my 8mm.
 
Zac moxley used to do it a bit. Its not ideal because if you're not shooting from a low angle, the distortion of a fisheye kind of works against you. Should be fine for jumps but rails might look funny
 
Shot a test roll of expired Kodak 7222 with a Bolex Rex 5 and a 2x anamorphic adaptor. Getting ready to shoot a short film with this setup this month. Stoked on how the test footage came out now I can't wait to go out and shoot the whole project:

That's what I figured. My only option at the moment would be to use my 18-55mm, the only lens I have that's "wide." Should I buy a Rokinon 14mm or just wait and save up to buy a Tokina 11-16mm?
 
well if you find that 18mm isn't wide enough for you and you want a 14mm in the meantime, you're not going to lose any money on reselling it if you have the patience and bought it for a good price originally. so i'd say it's really up to you whether or not you want to buy and resell or just wait and save up, you can't go too far wrong either way

 
Aaaaand the guys son dropped the camera he was gonna sell to me. Guess my search for an affordable MF camera continues.
 
Sounds like he found someone willing to pay more and didn't have the balls to tell you. Luckily thee are clumsy sons.
 
Or a TLR? I got my Yashica Mat 124G for $100. I've probably put close to 100 rolls through it and it has made some awesome shots. Waist level finder + built in meter make it a prime street shooter.
 
Yeah that's what I assumed, but he already took the ad down so it's too late anyways.

And If I can't find another 6x6 for a pretty good price I'm probably gonna get a 645 cause there's some pretty good ones for decent prices. And the only reason I don't want a TLR is I would like the option to purchase more lenses down the line, most affordable TLR's are pretty limited in that sense.
 
Sweet, I got selected for my school's artist of the month for January. I am getting a custom framing done for free!

It was that project that I was trying to figure out what famous image to recreate in paper a while back if anyone remembers.
 
A C330 shouldn't be too expensive.

But why are you so keen on getting multiple lenses? Like POV suggested, a Yashica Mat 124 shouldn't cost you much and is an incredible camera. Just look at POV's shots...
 
Also, picked up a black OM-2 spot-program with winder yesterday. Beautiful little camera. And the winder is a surprisingly awesome accesory. Makes it awesome to hold.

Now I have three OM-1's and an OM-2sp. Maybe adding an OM-2 to the collection to make it complete. OM-3/4's don't really interest me because they fugly.
 
I guess it depends on his shooting style though. I love my Yashica because I shoot mostly street photos. I could definitely see the fixed 80mm lens and 1/500 shutter speed be limiting if I was shooting a lot of action or portraits or landscapes. M645 is a great camera too. Dat 80mm f1.9...
