M&A stoke

I often shoot the games at my school, but now that i have a FF i'm wondering if my 70-200 will be enough. have you ever worked with any extenders?

I have not. I shot primarily with the 100-400, and definitely used it on the long end a lot for the lax game.

200mm is still soooo tight on FF, tbh I you had an F4 the downsides of cropping are less than using a tele converter on a 70-200....

Not even close, acros and delta 100 are much nicer. And fomapan makes a pretty sweet 100 as well. I would put tmax at the bottom of the list

Dude, why are you hating on Kodak so much?

Delta might be nicer, but is alos like 75% more expensive (if not more).

Acros isn't as nice as TMax tonality wise, the only thing that sucks about TMax is the reciprocity. I've heard Acros is AWESOME when it comes to that though.

And Fomapan isn't as nice as any of those imo.

First chance to try out the 11-16 today, awesome lens, love having such a wide lens, not used to having a FOV wider than my own vision though, resulted in some close encounters.

But I realised I have quite a bit of overexposed footage, when I specifically checked and made sure nothing was blown out(I always had it set to 11mm) but my friend kept on setting it to 16mm, after watching this video I realised the exposure decreases when he zooms out(it's far more noticable on my pc, at least a stop I'd say), what'd be the reason for this? is it a defect? something to do with the sun?

Inb4 you suck.

about 3 months ago my grandma mentioned that she had a leica camera in storage somewhere. today she was unpacking the last few boxes in her new house and found it. she needs some work (probably $350 in repairs :/ ) but it will pretty much begifted to me and I can't wait to use it when i get home from school. shoutout to Balto for answering my questions for hours

My grandpa's was an M4-2 (meh) but with a 35mm F2 cron! I'm hoping to l it down on ebay someday, but I don't have the cash to front a leica right now.

That thing looks pristine.

It also increases my hate for the fact that my dad's Hasselblad's and Leica's disappeared mysteriously before his death.

too bad the VF has either separated or is just completely gone, not gonna be a cheap fix if it's the later

Somehow i'm known as the video guy on campus. i have 4 projects already for the next 3 weeks, and i just got asked to do another kickstarter video. gonna be a busy end to the semester! wish people knew i like to take pictures more :/

i feel you on that, the more i get into photo, the more people want me to do video stuff

People always ask me to shoot photos for their wedding/graduation/dog's birthday. I usually smile and tell them I've never touched a camera in my life.

No, because I'm not a photographer and I have no interest in taking their lame jobs. My time is better spent doing video work and making tenfold the amount I'm qualified to charge for photography. Or playing with my kitty.

i'm unbelievably stoked on how well my first rolls of film turned out. so stoked that i'm just going to buy a developing tank and bag and start trying to do it myself.

prepared to be even more stoked! Home dev is so much fun and even more rewarding

I need to clean and rescan the negs I did last week, the shots came out sick but had some drying marks on them

Its a 1620 actually, its great because I can bring my fs700 and 7D along with my lenses chargers, external monitor and LED light

I got a sick deal on it... basically free with my futureshop staff purchase and free gift cards I earned at work.

I would prefer the 1510, at least that's a carry-on. With that kind of gear I wouldn't trust it to anyone at the airport apart from myself.

This is exactly why I just ordered a 1510. Downsizing slightly from a 1550, but I would rather be able to keep my core equipment on me during flight rather over checking it, etc.

Congrats on the case though Mat! I can't wait to see everything you get from the fs700!

Expensive cases also seem to disappear, I borrowed my friend my ridiculously expensive Zarges case (those sexy aluminium cases) to carry his camera gear to the Alps and it was gone when he landed, European flight, the case was found the next day with tool marks on the locks and near the lid. Luckily the case was too strong for the thieves.

It changed my attitude, I will never check in camera gear anymore.

Currently on the phone making plans with wedding clients. Hired on to do video of a 3 day long in September in Portland.
