M&A stoke

picked this up today! I'll probably have some questions with importing the video onto my macbook soon, I'm a huge noob when it comes to that haha

I heard that's a great camera for its price range, looks pretty smooth, hope to see some pics/vid.

It's awfully cloudy right now but I'm hoping the clouds will clear and I can get out to shoot some star trails or Milky Way photos tonight, so if I do I'll get a chance to test out my rx100. From the brief videos I've taken it seems pretty nice but I need download good editing software and learn all about that stuff haha

I would highly recommend you look in to Lightroom, as I'm sure many others would also suggest. It is awesome for simple editing, raw conversion, and organization. photoshop is great too, and if you want to do video as well, you might as well get cs6 production premium or master collection. One of my favorite things about it is how well everything works together. I can import my photos to lightroom, edit 1 then sync the settings, then send them all to photoshop to do a panorama, and it is so easy.

There's something about lr that I just hate, much prefer fastone image viewer+ camera raw, rapid to look through the photos, can edit them with 1 button and its just much cleaner and faster.

@ p.hawks I use Lightroom 4 and PS CS5, photography is my main hobby I meant I need to download software for the video aspect seeing as how my d700 doesn't have video I've had no need to download fcp or premiere pro for example. Is there much of a learning curve to fcp? Would anyone recommend something else? It doesn't have to be easy to use, I want to learn how to slow 60fps footage down properly and would like to possibly learn color grading or other advanced techniques for video.

Premiere Pro CS6. Not only is it much easier to deal with rendering, but it works 100x faster on slower computers, at least when I used it. Exported in 5 minutes what my friend had to wait 2 hours for in FCP on an identical laptop

stoked im flying out to germany and switz for 2 months to ski and take photos next weekend! picked up a shit ton of portra 400 too :)

There's those manfrotto copies for 30$ that fit manfrotto 501pl, still expensive but much cheaper than the brand ones

ya, premiere pro cs6 is part of the two bundles i suggested. Those bundles also contain products like photoshop and after effects, both of which I could see you using or at least trying in the near future. And as far as lightroom, to each his own I guess, I came from just having iphoto, then aperture, then lr3 and now 4. I like how it works for my workflow, and while I do enjoy photography, I do more video projects.

stoked on busyness and kind of stoked on this.

just did handheld again with my super tak 50, but the lighting was super foggy and night skiing. I thought it'd be cool, but i ended up really having to crank the ISO and condensation got on my lens so all the shots are pretty blurry/not sharp.

thanks man, it's definitely going to be sick as fuck. ive been there a few times, aha i remember the first time i went i was like fuck it im going to save money by eating mcdonalds everyday. ended up spending 12 francs for a fucking bigmac fries and a drink hahaha

Its insane! I was in Geneva for a day and had a strict budget for my trip, so my dinner consisted of a baguette with some raspberry jam for 4 francs haha

Just ordered Millar Solo DV CF legs, a new LaCie rugged mini 1TB drive, a wind muff for my video mic and a Rokinon 85mm, super stoked!

FSB 6 with Sachtler CF Legs (soon to be some Miller Solo CF legs), Cinevate Atlas 10 and a few externals to back up my RAID, laptop and tower. Looking forward to this year!

First time being published!

Just put 16gb of ram in my MBP and gonna buy a 240gb ssd to replace my HD. Stoked for a "new" laptop

Seeing how fast my ssd is on my desktop, no doubt its gonna be nice. Having all your program files on an SSD makes everything just so damn snappy.

Yeah the shots are a little blurry, but the audio was such a nice change from most of the videos posted on here, and the filming was good. Only thing not so good was the face near the beginning, he kind of looked sad / aggressive and didn't really add anything to the edit for me. Otherwise, please post more, cause I really really liked that!

thanks man, i actually really appreciate that. I learned a good amount from the edit and plan on doing a similar type of edit soon. Thought i could get away with the foggy look at night, but if i'm going for that same weather, I think the shots would be much cleaner with natural daylight.

Latest edit turned out much better than I expected and was well received. Wasn't really into it when I was filming (and it definitely showed) and when I started editing, but I finally got back into that editing groove that I haven't been in since last season.

I'm still thinking photo will be better for me this year though :P

just got a rokinon 3.5 fisheye lense and a azden smx-10 stereo microphone along with a shit ton of filters and a remote!!!!

so stoked to go film skateboarding today!!!!1!!1!exclamation point!

All my boot times are fucking insane. It awesome, not exactly a necessity but very convenient. I installed a Sandisk Extreme 240gb SSD. Might re-install my 750gb HD with the OWC data doubler (installing the HD in place of the optical drive).

It was 179 on B&H ($50 off deal) best i found for the price and size. So far I'm stoked, I have about 150gb of shit (gonna clean it up) but I definitely don't need more than that since I run everything on external drives.

That sounds awesome. Yeah I have also thought about that before as well seeing as I can't remember the last time I inserted a DVD or cd. Did you wipe your old HD before removing it?

Also, pumped I just got back from my 5th day of shooting urban in the last 8 days. Stacking shots. This summer will be a sick with all the editing I'll get to do for the first ever 403MEDIA movie.

Hype! Really excited to see what you guys come up with!

Stoked on the Bronica SQ-A I'm getting hooked up with
