Killed two weddings back to back and made some $$$ for it!

Need to figure out how to spend all that moolah!

225-300 depending on how much i need to cover. So far I just second shoot, so I come on either after prep is done (225) or will shoot prep for the groom (sometimes, although rarely, both of us will both shoot the bride together)

for a second i thought you were makin that shooting by yourself or as the main shooter/editor and i was gonna be like WTF! but thats legit. i am all into the wedding video making game now, its awesome and pretty fun

yeah, meant to add that i just shoot, pass my footage on, and am done with it. Although my buddy and I usually go over the footage/rough cuts together if I can make it down to his house during the process.

I suggest (to everyone) to take the oppurtunity to film a wedding if you get it. I love it, the vibe is usually always so happy, and 99% of the time your client LOVES your stuff. You're capturing an important moment for them, and they absolutely go crazy about your work and how they'll be able to remember and relive it forever

There are two types of freelance shooters: those who take pride in shooting weddings, and those who want to murder everyone in the room and fall into a pit of self-loathing during the editing process.

iv only got to do it once and it was for a close family friend but it was awesome. open bar, chilled with friends, tons of food.

oh and i got to do some filming/photatoe shooting

Food is always one of my favorites. Never guaranteed, but all that i've been too have had vendor options. Last night, in addition to a bomb steak, they had a churro bar, milkshake "shots," and at like 9:30 they brought out a tray of 200 mini hamburgers and 15lbs of french fries. It was heaven

got some insane motivation to make a demo reel hopefully get a bunch done before i leave tomorrow

if3 dood

you're missing out, I was gonna buy Evan a beer, i'd get you one too but....

One of the best days in a long time. Paypal claim went through, getting my money back in full once he gets his Pentax 6x7 (broken) back, should only take a few days. Also saw bon iver, live, outside, and i was literally 20 feet back from the stage. Shot two roles of gold 400 and a role or portra 400 that i've been saving. Can't wait to get em dunked and scanned.

Shot this on instagram as I was walking out:

i feel like this is very true, but if its a pretty well-done wedding with lots of food and drink, not only can you be super creative with the video but you can be very creative in meeting very eligible bachelorettes ;)

Most of the weddings I've done have been pretty expensive, meaning I'm so busy that I a) don't get to eat, drink, or imbibe (extremely unprofessional) and b) don't get to talk to anyone. Couple that with my ex-boss' ability to negotiate horrible contracts that involved PUD and no clause regarding overtime or number of revisions. Still waiting for a $1500 paycheck from a wedding I did over a year ago...

oh damn! i can see why you aren't really into it then. i got lucky cuz the couple encouraged us to eat while there was down time and the night before when we met with them at the rehearsal, they fed us some of the best pot roast ive ever had in my life. hopefully you get that check one of these days

spontaneously put together a wedding reel tonight, really like how it turned out editing wise. Now I have to CC the shit out of it!

got my 1.5ft XLR cable today. really stoked on this run and gun setup to get decent audio in situations I can't get a boom. Really stoked to try it out this winter as well.

1. New tripod (Sachlter Ace) is on its way.2. My professor chose me to direct the short film that one of my classes is shooting this semester.

mine hasn't came off my body since picking it up. Such a better focal length for crop than the 50. I was playing around with it on my glidecam today and it'll def. work, pretty stoked on that. Might grab the 24mm eventually, I think it'd give it a good look and would help get rid of the shake a bit

Save yourself the money on the 24mm. It's not really good. Unless you really need the F/1.4 (which I highly doubt), get the Olympus Zuiko 24mm or Sigma Super Wide 24mm instead.

Woke up this morning to find $505 sitting in my paypal! Also just got 3 roles of c41 from bon iver back from the lab, time to get scanning. Also dropped off a role of slide film that I shot at if3 with 1337!

The awkward moment when I'm on the UPS tracking website more than my homework website.

Got a cool package being delivered today! :D
