M&A stoke

Been working on a DIY glidecame for the last 3 days. finishing it tomorrow. been through a couple drafts.

stoked to get some footy with it.

after a month of operating a tyler mounted RED Epic from a helicopter my boss says "ready to operate a cineflex?" Stoked!

Wow, fuck yeah.

I'm stoked I finally bought a tripod, head, and intervalometer for my 50D. Not so patiently waiting for Canon to release new models so I can decide on which full frame to upgrade to, 5dMk3 or ??

Not stoked that my tripod broke thanks to some 4 year old thinking it was alright to pick up and throw it off a bridge.

I was showing a friend of mine how to set up and shoot a long exposure of the creek below us on the footbridge. I left my tripod behind me folded on the ground. Some person's kid decides to pick it up.

As soon as I notice, I ask him nicely if I could have my tripod, or if he could put that down, please. So instead of putting it down or handing it to me, or anything, he pushes it through the gap in the bridge's guardrailing and it falls about 30 feet below and smashes on a rock...

Fucking... WTF... Friday the 13th shit?

Phil have you always been into photography? Good to see that you are posting avidly in M&A.

BTW, got 186 Jeffreys through the pre-order. So stoked on that.

For thread: Stoked that I might be getting a 70-200 pretty soon. Stoked about my new SMC 50mm 1.4

Nothing really going on right now video project wise, but im trying to line some things up.

Seriously; if their kid broke something ov yours they should compensate you for part or all of the tripod.

Haha, me too.

Stoked I bought a Cokin P-series filter GND/ND set. Never shot with GND's before, but I'm sure the results will be stunning. Can't wait to go out for real and shoot some beautiful stuff with it

Oh, yeah I definitely was mad at the parents... The dad was a bit of a dick though in that I was so angry about the situation - he didn't understand that tripods aren't exactly free, I suppose... but a day later and damn the story is funny.

It was only a 60 dollar tripod or so - one that probably should have broken on multiple occasions in the past, so I can't be all that furious. The head isn't broken either, just one of the legs was shattered and the stem was severely bent.

Got a steal of a deal on a Pentax ME Super with a 28-90mm f2.8 macro and a 55mm. Stoked to get some serious film shots.

Dude, Nicee. That's a sweet camera. I'm actually likely to pick up a Pentax ME soon so I can use my old Pentax glass on an actual Pentax again (k1000 went out a long time ago, and I sold the kx)

Speaking of steals, Just got an old Minolta SR-T 101 off Keh for 10 bucks.

Stoked- that I just built a sick editing computer and have a good editing station!

that i recently bought a fluid tripod kit, and the LCW Fader ND MKII!

and that I'll be dropping some sick footage soon:)

Hahah the bokeh on that helios is so cool. I keep hoping I'll run into one at a local camera shop or garage sale.

Stoked that when I was visiting Vancouver, saw a sweet little camera store went in on a whim and found old Canon FD lenses.

Picked up a 50mm 1.8 and a 28mm 2.8!

snipe! I really need to go to more thrift and pawn shops, i've heard people get some crazy deals

Best part of pawn shops, is you can bargain.

Even if they tell you the price is final, and they aren't going to bargain - don't be afraid for a second to bargain, since that's how they usually buy stuff (or rip stuff) off of people in the first place. If they say they don't bargain, don't believe that BS for even a moment, because they're just trying to play hardball.

Also pretty stoked I got an adapter so I can now use my dads old lenses, a 50mm 1.8, 24mm 2.8, and a 75-205 3.8

yes. Note that it will turn into basically a 35mm with an adapter, but it will be pretty sharp. Canon FD's always had great wide angle offerings. I use mine all the time, and as long as you're above about F2, they're fantastically sharp.

There was a rare breed of horse on the property I was staying at this past week, and most of the horses were champions of champions. I took a lot of pictures of them to say the least. The owners saw them and have requested a CD of the pictures so that they can use some on their website and other mediums. Definitely stoked.

I just came here to post the 24....

Their 24/35/85 combo is seriously really good stuff. Like better than the L/nikon versions. And fractions of the price of that stuff too. Mmmm

Finally have a backpack large enough to carry my enormous Sachtler head into the backcountry. And I have a Dynafit setup on the way...

Going to boston tomorrow with the intention of wandering around and taking pictures

got a new video head. monfrotto 701rc2. got it for free at a local shop ha. guess iv bought enough there that they dont mind giving away a tripod head...either way i will take it.

they are actually quite fun, if the talent is flexible and excited (which they usually are)
