M&A, Help me with Sony Vegas please

so I have a canon t3i, a bunch of glass, a tripod and sony vegas pro 10. you can probably guess what i would like to do with all of this. the only problem is i need a little guidance on how to use vegas.

if anyone could either explain or link me to explanations/tutorials that would be much appreciated. I was looking on youtube for some help but all of the color correction videos were of kids color correcting clips from call of duty which is of no help to me... also, what settings should i use to export? for shits and giggles i played around with a 30 second clip that i shot and the end result came about to be a 6gb file... so i have something wrong...

in summary, any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
i usually export in 720p 30fps in a wmv format cuz it seems to keep the quality and keep the size down. for the color correcting i'm in the same boat as you. it's annoying trying to search for videos but the only things that come up are little pro gamer kids editing their cod videos
