M&A Going to Camera Store Today need ADVICE

I am slightly sorry, but I am tending to agree with some of the others in the thread. You really do need to read up a ton more and see how much you don't know before you should be looking at new glass.
1. You are asking if L glass is faster because you noticed the 1.4 was focusing faster than the 18-135.
2. You assumed the 18-135 was a piece of shit when in reality, it's one of the nicest consumer level lenses out there for Canon. Which is what you are. A consumer. You aren't making your living off of photography. So the 18-135 is actually really perfect for you. Mine was stolen along with my first 7d body, and I wish I still had it for a walk around lens.
3. How old are you? I don't want to bring this down to an age dispute, but you seem very lost and are acting like you want the community to decide what kind of photos you should be taking. Why dont you post your favorite images you have taken, tell us why you like them, and we can offer info for you.
If I had my way, everyone would be shooting manual glass, on all manual settings on the camera. It's too easy for someone to throw an f1.4 lens on a camera, let the camera focus, and shoot away.
My kit is this. You should buy it all too, then see how good of a shooter you really are.

What?! Nikon lenses on a Canon? Yup, and I have to do everything myself (no auto mode here).
My advice? Keep shooting and figure out your own style.
Wide?
