So I saw there was a Christmas List thread in NSG, but it would be cool to see what kind of video/photo gear people in M&A are asking for. Some of you are older but I'm sure there's some of you with a couple Christmases left like me. Personally I am asking for either a 50mm f/1.4 or a mic. What about you guys?
 
I asked for a Nikon 18-105 (18-55) wasn't cutting it.

And a snug-fit silicon case for my camera.

And a tripod/head, i doubt im gonna get that though, the other two things are more important.

The only piece of photo gear I'm asking for is a beauty dish. We do a family christmas where all the "adults" have a 100 dollar limit and just buy for one other person, so I think that will be my gimme.

Everything else I'm asking for is boring. TurboTax, socks and underware and a blender. pretty much. haha.
 
well my grandma might help me pay for a macbook bro 15' so thats on my list haha

Ok so i have about 350 to spend and am looking to add some gear to my dslr set up.

I have a tripod that is decent for both video and photo but i could return it and get a full refund.

I have been looking at the d|focus and corresponding plate so i dont have to buy bars.

Or a viewfinder.

Anybody got suggestions? Iv got some lenses and 350 isnt really enough for a new lens anyway.
 
hey man blenders are some useful shit. Make some good smoothies and all that.

Basically I dont really get anything for christmas, because I already got new skis and I am still indebt over 800 dollars just for my camera. So maybe ill ask for a 50mm or an manfrotto set up.

but in all seriousness, I just want some chunk of change to put toward something when I see fit. Especially since I wanna cancel my ace pre order and go with the fsb4... Using a friend's OG 501 setup just isnt cutting it

 
Dude, don't hate on the blender. Socks and clothing are way lamer than that.

Make your own smoothies? Come on. That shit costs like 4.50 at jamba juice, i'll make it myself for a buck and drink it sitting on the couch watching tv. Hell, I could make it sitting on the couch watching tv... because I own that shit!

You can also make salsa in a blender. That's cheaper too. So useful.

honestly ive spent way too much money on camera stuff for myself recently so i think i should probably stop... maybe a glidecam 2000? all i really need is clothes and money for alcohol haha. college life

my present is plane tickets to JH for a ski vacation with my friend. no camera gear for me this year :(
 
We'll I got a pair of FT Morrison's, so pretty much not getting anything else. But I asked santa for a GoPro 2 and a Black Rapid RS-5 strap.
 
the shit i want is kinda pricy, so it is split between both sets of grandparents, aunt and uncle, and parents for xmas and birthday. Btw i would only get one of these

Red epic pl mount and the both new canon pl zooms. I am so pissed that im not gonna have the zooms now, but my rents are renting me a set of cp2s until then so I guess that'll cut it :/

I asked for an Epic, but my parents said that they was a little out of the budget, so I'm settling for a RED One.

 
idk man, my rents told me that I could get the epic if I stay on honor roll, so maybe u should try telling them that your friends parents are getting him the epic, maybe that'd work
 
so sick man! looking to get two scarlets + a red prime set for my b day in a little while, I'm just not sure if i need something better as a B and C camera
 
my parents said if i get over a 2.0 gpa and stay eligible that theyll buy me an arri and a red with those long lenses that are silver and look cool!!!!!

Im so sorry, you should separate yourself from your family or something, thats ridiculous. My parents told me aslong as i dont get kicked out of school theyll buy me a RED Epic with the prime kit
 
I heard that the twixtor setting on that in awesome. The twixtor settings on the RED camaras are not as cool looking but I think i'll like it better because the sensor is sharper.
 
Best pocket camera ever! Seriously that thing is always with me. Make sure you get the original XA though.

I won't be buying it this month but picking up a Leica M4/M4-P in the near future for myself.
