Lyndon state

place is fun as fuck as long as youre riding a lot. i went for 3 years, less than an hour from jay and loon, 10 minutes from burke, their park is getting sick, plus theres a bunch of rails and other jibs on campus. i got booted out a couple years ago though cause we got a foot and a half of snow in the middle of may and i skipped all my finals for a few days to build a large jump on burke :-( good scene up there tho

Place looks sweet as shit. I'm only a jumior but am applying there next year for the ski resort manangement major... and to ski alot. It's sick i didn't realize they were so close to loon.

yup it's a pretty sweet school. i go here and i'll be a sophomore next year. burke is a nice little mountain and we're pretty close to jay and loon as well. and as greg said there are a lot of fun little jibs around campus.

im a junior but this is my top school and im really hoping to go there as well. the woods at burke are under rated and the park is coming along so it should be sweet

i go there now. I'll be a sophmore next year. place is pretty sweet in the winter. and with jay that close it makes all the better.

im a senior in the ski resort program but i will be coming back for a 5th year next year. great for a skiing and its not a half bad program

have you had any good internships or job opportunities yet from the ski resort management program?

Indeed burke is so underated. It will take you a couple years but by the time u graduate u will know all the sweet local cut trails and drops. The park shouldbe good next year. More budget plus steve will be grooming. There will be no gap because nobody used it this year but Dashney is gonna have bigger fearutes and there will be a different mini park.

I will probly end up doing my intership at burke grooming and in the park because i have to take 1 last class for my exercise science minor. If i didnt have to take that class I could do my internship pretty much anywere i wanted. I havent really talked to anybody that got shut down when looking for an internship (except 1 place in nz). As for getting jobs im not at that point yet but 96% of kidsin the program are asked to work where they did thier internship. I do have a job in the terrain park at Burke which is made chill, but I plan i going out west and doing more then just working in a park. I will be at lyndon one more year to finish up soccer and a couple minors and then its out west with a bunch of other kids from Lyndon. One of the best things about Lyndon is when ur all done you will have friends in all the sickest places that you can go visit and ski with.

that sounds sweet as hell, I'm definitely stoked on the school but I am also checking out uvm, green mountain college, and out west

i always though the gap was a terrible spot for the park. when first started setting stuff up on main street (when steve started basically) it was pretty fun, that was a good spot, dashny is a good long spot for a park but you miss the rest of the mountain, main st was short but you could still ride the good parts of the mtn and finish running through some fun setups.

yeah the gap in my opinion is too steep. Dashney is a little flat but it ussually has real good flow cuz of it. The issue now is that the lower lift is so much slower that nobody wants to go up top anyways. Something that could be hit by taking the poma would be nice. There will also still be some stuff on Open slope, which is good cuz u can hit after most runs anywhere on the mountain.

i went to lyndon for a semester last fall, stopped going to classes so i could shred and party hardy. i ended up staying up there even after i got suspended from classes for a semester. burke is a sweet mountain, not necessarily the biggest or the best but it gets the job done and is a super short drive from campus, and if you dont have a car you can usually find a ride. the park is a little more snowboard friendly than other parks, but gets changed around multiple times a year. the jumps are really fun when they finally get them dialed and the rails slide well. if you plan on skiing glades get up there early tho, gets tracked out fairly quick. overall a great place to get all baked and drunk and cruise around.

now for the school part, the classes are small, the teachers are really nice, and shit is super easy. the dining hall sucks a big fat dick and will make you shit like you got railed by one. the dorms are dece, try to stay away from wheelock tho, really small rooms and the RHD (resident hall director) lives on the bottom floor. if you can get a room in stonehenge, the courtyard is super fun to chill out in and meet up with everyone. theres not too many party babes, but there are some. most everyone i met up there was super chill, and i made tons of friends. my crew was about 20 deep with all different types of people, most of us got kicked out but we still all stay in contact and see each other about every two weeks.

overall, this is a real sick school to ski at. see you in the fall.

sounds sweet as hell, you still live up there? I trying to go to that school and I'm applying next fall!! how close is it to loon and jay?

i know lyndon is close but can anyone tell me about that little local hill in lyndon. i heard they have nite skiing, does anyone ever go there at night and do they have any rails or anything?

its kinda fun they ussually set up some stuff. They had a couple slopestyle comps this year. Really laid back with not many people. Just surface lifts though and no snowmaking. I have heard rumors of lots of funding and an all park mountain. There are allso always rails and boxes setup all over campus. Burke is so close that i really never go to the outing club.

There are a couple boxes that get moved around. A couple really tall rails. One is just a flat the other is a fd or uf also a trap rail. Big urban c which is fun but u get busted most of the time. They just tell u not too. Also an urban bent rail. There used to be a whole terrain park on presents hill. There is also lots of shit at peoples apartments right near campus.

The only vidoes i have online of campus stuff from a couple years ago.

I am getting really pumped to apply here!!! it sounds like there is always some skiing going down somewhere and the school is dope!

you should check out johnson state too, legit park on campus. and way more lax on trouble making. and its really close to smuggs and stowe.

yeah johnson is a hippy school. Lyndon all depends on teh RA that you are with. My freshmen year we did whatever the fuck we wanted. My sophmore year we had to move off campus after 1 semester cuz eventully our RA started to hate us.

does johnston state have a ski resort/recreation management program like lyndon does, thats what I'm really after... but I have seen it online

majjjjjjjjjjjjjjor hippy school. i went to a reggae fest there and it was a jam band. and tons of hippies in tie dye. i guess my "class", fall of '07, had more people arrested and kicked out off campus/out of school than any class ever at lyndon. it was also the largest. haha they tried to take a class picture and they had to take another one cause there were too many "obscene gestures"

drinking on campus mainly, i know a couple of kids who got kicked out for supposed rape, other kids with tons of weed, one with a bunch of acid. but if you can hold your alcohol enough to be drunk on campus (probably not, but dont worry most people cant) its all good.

maybe someone that goes there can answer this for me, so im lookin for a new car and i was wondering if i need something with 4 wheel drive to get me up to burke or jay or anywhere else in the winter thanks

^ i would say u dont need it but its helpful. My outback is perfect for teh winters but with gas so expensive it sucks in the summer.

yea ill be a sophomore in ski resort management. living on campus kinda sucks but its not so bad if you can manage to stay under the radar and stay outta trouble. burke is so dank too, way better than i expected it to be when i decided to go to lyndon. the woods are bomb and the park is actually pretty decent.

i drove an 89 nissan sentra this winter up there, without snow tires. haha it got pretty hairy at times but it worked.

yea i heard that you should stay away from this kid named emmet because he loves the dick quite a bit. just a heads up.
