Lutsen Park??

Hey So I have heard that Lutsen is finally going to be building a park this year. I figure with the money you can tell that place makes by all the condos they should be able to make something pretty good so it should be cool to see what it's like.

Anyways I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it??
 
if its true i hope its nice cuz a lil weekend getaway up there would be tight....get away from the zoo that is hyland.
 
yea i dunno, that article doesn't say much, but i'm definitely gonna check it out since it's not to far of a drive from d-town a a change of secnery is nice from the everyday huge lines of spirit. I bet lines wouldn't be to bad at lutsen since i'm thinkin not a lot of people who ski park live close to there. I totally agree with the low rails, small jumps, stuff but they make so much money they gotta have something good...i hope...One of my friends ski patrols up there so i'll see if he knows much
 
would be fun to have everyone head up there for a full weekend of skiing and causing trobble if they get a park.
 
Haha sick theres alot of buzz about that on the Canadian side too. Cuz where 40 mins from the border,and with the price of season passes on the order of 565 bucks candian, we can get a lutsen and spirit pass for cheaper lol.
 
I just called them and they said the park'll have 30 to 40 features, and a company is designing it for them but in the excitment of hearin that shit I forgot which one.
 
Thats awesome! And petey i know that Skier Moonday will for sure be hittin that up over winter break, especially since Billy can usually get us some free passes with his Ski Patrol stuff.
 
this will be Lutsen third attempt at a park. The first consisted of the bottom of Mystery mt. It was hilarious, some log jib an attempt at a half pipe and shovels that were left on the hill for anyone to build, fix whatever.

the second attempt was on Moose mt. over by the cascade lift, just a simple attempt at a jump line or just a couple of jumps.

Both of these were years ago... probably over seven or so. I had a season pass up there for most of my pre-college years.

Two years ago now I spoke to a rep who told me that they had a pipe dragon just no insurance for a park.

SO yeah it will be interesting to see what they come up with this year. But Mystery is such a long flat hill I can't much coming of it. I hope I'm wrong.
 
Yea, I agree on the flatness thing, I'm thinking if they did a lot of cool rails and stuff that would be sweet, hopefully they will be able to make some decent jump that work with it not being very steep. One way or another I'm excited to see how it turns out. Since I know I will be going there anyways at least once it will be nice to have a little bit more park action, last year some kids had made two of the ski rack things into an elbow rail, thats the most i've ever seen from lutsen, lol. O well, at least I won't have to keep killing myself trying to jump over trees... Thanks a lot Little Rutford...
 
yes chris and evan you can come, we'll make it an SMDC trip, and evan, you didn't do anything but remember that tree that i thought you and aaron jumped over when you actually didnt, and then i tried to and almost crotched the tree, bounced off my head, and then landed upright...damn you and your brother, from where i was i couldn't tell you totally chickened out and went around it, o well, thats the only reason you guys ski with me anyways, cuz im shitty and its funny when i fall, which is all the time...

steve i think a ron is way more steezy than you because he wears like 4xl long sleeve polos with tall tees hanging out. plus hes like 7 feet tall so that brings the steeze o meter up at least 5 notches. but your pretty steezy steve.

looks ok to me except for that berm...wtf? why would u put it in front of a double roller that is supposed to give you speed to hit the "Mystery Jump" which by the way better be cool if its so mysterious.
 
yea it does look bad, if they want anyone to go they better have huge jumps, some crazy rails and like a step up instead of a step down!
