i just got some brand new liberty LTE's and ive only skied on them for 1 day and there are already little cracks appearing on the topsheet of the tip of one of my skis. is this normal? i can get pics up if necessary.

pics.

if its tiny spider web cracks, it might be from the ski flexing? I've never seen it in skis, but other plasticy materials, similar to topsheet material.

if its just minor topsheet stuff, i wouldn't worry about it. your topsheet is gonna get chipped and thrashed the more you use it, so just some cracks from a flex won't harm it, its just normal wear. plus its a sign that you do use your skis like they are supposed to be used

pics might help though for a better answer, but if its just topsheet (as long as its not a delam) then you should be fine

Pics would be helpful, but I think I know what you're talking about. The question is, are they horizontal or vertical, if they're horizontal then you should be fine because it's just the topsheet coating bending to the flex of the ski, if they're vertical, you might run into some problems with delam because if they get pulled up they'll delam much easier because of the cracks. If they're spiderwebby, you're most likely also fine too.
If you can get some pics I might be able to tell you more. Also, if it is really bothering/worrying you, you can email Liberty and show them and see what they say.

LIberty topsheet is legit. I had a little piece rip up about an inch long on the tip once from catching on a box and i just gorilla glued back down and no issue. other than, they look better than any other ski I've had topsheets.

i am going to take pics, but i have no idea how to embed them, and i dont know what you mean by horizontal or vertical cracks. They are tiny cracks that are only there in the tip of one ski and they run along the length of the ski. ill take some pics and figure out how to embed them.

its just some cracking in the top sheet, kinda like the small cracks of similar nature on the nose/tail of a skateboard. honestly, i don't think they will warranty something like that unless it gets worse and delams, but its worth a try. the cracks might just stay like that, so as long as the ski still rides good, it should be fine, just keep an eye on it

ive got about 30 days of skiing on mine and they have nothing like that...hopefully liberty will respond quick cause after 1 day they shouldnt look like that. Liberty is mad legit on their warranty so they should take care of it.

Dude you should email:

chris (at) libertyskis (dot) com and he will definitely fix you up. I do not believe that he received your email, so please hit him up directly.
