lowering a car

alright, i have a 1st genaration mazda mx6. its got insane ground clearance, and its a badass snowcar, but i wanna slam the muthafucka for the summer. what are my options? (keep in mind i need to be able to return it to stock height for next winter)

coilovers! get coilovers. and better struts. the only other thing you'd need is maybe camber adjustment plates, they're cheap, easy to install and will keep your tires from wearing uneven. Its should be cheap and easy to find parts for a mx6.

Worst Idea ever...lowering the height and changing the handling characteristics with coilovers is a horrible idea to do if you want to keep it as a snow car. Coilovers even when you crank the height back up will be much stiffer than what you have and stiffer in snow and winter ice is a HORRIBLE idea youll be sliding all over the damn place. My friend tried the same thing on his wrx and wow oh wow he was not happy driving in the snow. Best advice if u want to lower...get a seperate set of springs and tires with whatever rims and swap them out during the season. Good springs, decent street tires, and new rims for street stuff are the best way to go..

 
oh weird, i guess World Rally Championship drivers must be really good because they drive cars on snow and ice at insane speeds with coilovers... just dont get 500+lb./in. springs. Get 300's or 350's.

ya, that's what i was gonna do. i was just gonna get a separate set of coilovers for the summer, and then just put the stock ones back in when winter comes around, but my homie was like 'nah dawg, you'll fuck up your car if you keep changing the height twice a year' and i was like 'bitch pleezeeeee'

don't look like a tool and have to drive over speed bumps diagonally because you will scrape your car. Every honda at my school has to do that. they fucking rev their engines and go fast through the parking lot, then slam their brakes and turn so the speed bump won't fuck them up.
