Lowered cars in the snow.

Quick question/poll......

Does anyone here have a car that they have lowered and used no ground effects kits? If you have any issues when driving thru the snow? I havea car that would look better lowered 2 inches, but I know it will kill my ground clearence. I have always have SUV or trucks... any opinions?

thx

IT SUCKS DICK, when there are chunks of snow on the road, i cring, so far ive made it without cracking my bumper, but i woudl suggest getting coils, so you can raise it in the winter....

Yeah I was thinking about coils as well... just pricy but then so is a new front end!

thanks for the input!

Buy some lowering springs, have then installed, but keep the stock springs. Swap them out when it starts to snow. You get the lowered ride for the spring/summer/fall and snow clearance in the winter. I started doing this after I ripped the exhaust off my car last winter.

Switching springs is WAY too much work to be doing it twice a year. It's fine being lowered you just have to be careful. Drive slow over railroad tracks and on shitty roads. Don't worry about people getting pissed at you for slowing down for tracks or other shit, just flick them off if they honk. Take steep driveways at somewhat of an angle and avoid potholes and things in the road. It's really not as bad as I make it sound. You gain some natural reflexes with time that help you avoid shit.

I'm worried about summer driving, I was just wondering how low ground clearence cars handeled in the snow, since I have always have lifted sleds.

And I do have to agree, changing springs 2 times a year, I would rather poney up the 1500 on adjustable.

thx

If it snows a lot, its probably a bad idea, especially on un-plowed roads, but I think it would handle fine on other snow stuff, jsut be carefull about ridges at parking garages and stuff, and potholes.

i hear its fine

just dont take that shit on a dirt path

had a bad expereince last night fucking rocks scrape and its not a good time

yeah me and my friend where "rallyin" on a dirk road and bottomed out his car in some sand.

this fat indian dude had to come and save us

I have 4 inches clearance on my stealth, and I live in Ontario. So yea its retarded. I can't even hit a pop can sitting up straight without knocking it down haha. You get used to it though. SLAM IT AND DONT WORRY !

The pros outweigh the cons.

if it's deep you might get high centered. My impreza got stuck this past winter in my parking lot, granted the tires arn't great, it sucked.

Lowering your car isn't gay shit if you do it right and for the right reasons. And yea thats just stupid. But don't call aftermarket suspension gay shit, cause THAT is stupid.

watch out for those big ice chunks that build up in the mud flaps on trucks. one fell off a truck my buddy was following down the hiway and it took a pretty sweet chunk out of the front of his car

i'll update when i get the new turbo and shit on, I finally managed to find some new side skirts and shit aswell, but other then the front mount it still looks the same
