Low Volume Ski Boots

Outside the race boot realm, which boots provide the best fit for a narrow foot with a low instep?

I currently have Nordica Patrons (Doberman shell) in a 110 flex. I'm pretty happy with the boots, but I am interested in knowing which boots could provide an even closer fit. Some boots I have been considering:

- Salomon Xmax 120

- Atomic Ultra Hawx 120

- Technica Mach 1 LV 120

- Lange RX LV 120

How do those compare with my current boots?

Thank you very much.

I have xmax 120s. Pretty tight fitting, and I've had no modifications to them so they stay that way, rather than doing the whole thing with heating the shell and expanding it. They're decently light boots as well. Although mine are probably the smallest shell size, 285mm bsl, so that helps them be light.

I mean, as always it comes down to what fits. I have a 98mm last and small feet in general so these fit me. Only thing I dont like is the not replacable soles, seeing as they're rather thin.

I have a pair of hawx Ultras for sale , real cheap if you r interested, I think they would be a great fit

- Salomon Xmax 120 :Nice thing about this boot it's moldable, so you can throw it in a Fischer Vacuum machine if you need it even tighter (or larger).

- Atomic Ultra Hawx 120 - Same for this.Probably fits slightly tighter than the xmax, but the instep is more forgiving (on my foot, at least)

- Technica Mach 1 LV 120 - Feels like the roomiest of the LV boots.

- Lange RX LV 120 - Skis really well.

I have relatively skinny feet and wear the Lange rx 120's. Not sure if they are smaller volume... but my bootfitter got me a halfsize smaller than what I was originally going for, then hammered it out in specific spots so they fit nicely.

Thanks for the replies. The Lange RX LV is a great boot but it has a pretty high instep, compared to the Atomic Ultra Hawx and Salomon Xmax.

I got a pair of Salomon Xmax 120s. Probably the lowest instep boot, so I decided to pull the trigger. Excited to ski them. Thanks for the replies.

Have you tried the gpx from nordica? I believe it's a thinner shell but same profile as the speedmachine. Defintely a good comfortable boot.

I have pair or Nordica Patrons which is basically the same boot. They are a nice boot, but the instep is a little too high for my foot.

Lange RX/XT line.

Dalbello Lupo(depends on the model) & Dalbello Krypton/IL Moro(same as before)

Salomon QST

Atomic HAWX
