Low Light Suggestions?

I was recently filming at an indoor trampoline gym and it is not very well lighted for filming. I am shooting on a t3i with a kit lens. I had to crank the iso to 800 and even up to 1600 and it looks terrible. Also I am having to shoot at a low aperture to let as much light in as I can. I realize my lens isn't very good but do you know of anything else I can do?

ditto to what the above two said.

but just FYI, apertures like f/1.8 or f/2.8 are large apertures. anything like f/16 or f/22 would be a small aperture. they're super easy to confuse because it seems backwards until you understand that the numbers are ratios

depends on what you like. personally, i cant stand any noise - nothing ruins the integrity of a shot like noise.

Hahah the DoF would be useless though. In all seriousness, a slightly faster lens perhaps, but your depth of field is gonna be really shallow. So you can either up your ISO and deal with the noise, or bring in lights.

Or buy a 5dII.

Changing anything about your camera only treats the symptom, not the problem. A fast lens and a huge sensor is an expensive and unsuccessful way to add light to a scene because all you're doing is making the image brighter, not necessarily adding more light.

A couple construction lights with white sheets to diffuse them is a cheap and easy, quick-fix that likely suits your scenario (assuming the place is lit with halogens). Is it ideal? Not even close. But it will do a hell of a lot more than changing something about your camera, for less money.

21db aka 6400iso... do you see any noise? 5D sure can't do that...
