Low din stories

My first ever 270 on a few years ago, I landed, one ski popped off then I fell over resulting in a heelpiece up my ass. After that I always made sure my DIN and forward pressure were correct.

I generally determine the din on the toes of my park skis by making them just tight enough I don't pull them off doing mutes... needless to say I had the remounted midseason and they adjusted the din. Took me a few midair ski removals to figure that one out. Also back in my racing days it pretty much a guarantee that someone would faceplant kicking out of the skis that they forgot to retighten after the summer on the first day of practice.

Didn't have a din issue but a forward pressure issue, at a demo last year one of the tech reps didn't set it properly and as i unloaded the ski, mind you it was a wc ski with a 9/10 din, it flexed right off my boot sending me right on my face. Nothing like standing in a crowded lifeline with a busted lip and nose and blood running down your face thanks to a tech that rushed an adjustment.

got to a top of a peak, clicked in, and realized my toes had alot of play, checked the din it was at the lowest setting, said fuck in and dropped in, made it to the bottom though.

when i had mine mounted this year the shop tech for some reason mounted them on the lowest din, like a 3 or some shit, don't even know if it goes that low. anyway i went skiing like right after i got them mounted and (attempted tip stand made me look at the din setting) but as it turned out i could literally be standing still and jump straight up out of my bindings and land on my feet with no effort, just would jump up and it was as if i never even popped in. got home, cranked them up to 9.

that backflip fail was so rough
one time when i was younger this kid tried to hit a little side jump but it was a spring day and the snow was super sticky. as soon as he hit the lip, he double ejected and supermanned about ten feet to his face.

I was spinning off of a rail and i was grabing my right ski and it popped off mid air. landed it for about a second then died ahaha

My ski just popped off, the brake son my skis weren't wide enough, and I had to ski to the bottom of a couple of slopes to get my ski...

Of course you can pull your ski off, it is still designed to release at some point so if you put enough force on it it will come off.

If you stand still and twist your foot even if your a fair few digits above your recommended it will still come off, it is designed too.

But yeah I have shitty quadrax toe peices so yeah used to skis popping off.

If your consistently pre-releasing especially if you have STHs that dont have a driver toe then go get your bindings torque tested, i have to run mine +0.5 and +1 to release at the intended value. Do that before just cranking your shit.

this past winter, i was on some rental skis (so demo bindings), i knew the dins were at 9, but I was planning on having a mellow groomer day so I thought "fuck it, I don't need to tighten them". Well, on one run I was in some moguls, saw the end of the mogul field and started to strightline out of them to freedom... BUT the first mogul I hit, I hit the uphill side of it, my skis popped off and flew up and hit me in the face. Cut my nose right open and cut my upper lip. 3 layers of stitches, 13 inside my nose and 12 outside my nose/upper lip.

skis popped off barely knuckling a jump, i landed past the knuckle without my skis and broke my leg in 2 spots on impact. it was pretty fucking sweet

i was on a pair of straight skis for gaper day last year with the din set at 8, hit a 25 footer and and a mute/claim, tried to stomp the landing and went face first into ice

attempted a tip stand which resulted in my ski popping off after being loaded up with tons of tension, then snapping back and hitting me very hard on the shin just above my boot

HIgh din stories.....torn acl/mcl, its not cool to claim high dins,

(not imbeding right now)

set your binding at most 1-1.5 over recommended for your level, weight, height, age, and bsl, herd to many stories of people ruining there seasons and knees becasue on a boot not pulling out

did a 720 and my ski just flew off. but I landed with only one ski so i was ok I just and to crank up the dins a little

Double black at Apex in Vernon.

after going through a patch of fresh, I hit a steep icy spot and slid sideways because it startled me. Downhill ski popped out and slid like 150 feet downhill, on this steep-as-fuck tree run and I had to one-ski it down like a boss, then put it back on while still on the steep ass run, which proved to be harder said than done.

A couple years ago my din was at 7 for provincials, set a 1080 and I spun right out of my bindings. Ate shit, went down to the bottom and ripped my din up to 12. stomped the 10 and placed 3rd :)

I popped a three of a little bump in early season slushy snow and my ski cought in the heavy snow and went flying off as soon as i popped and started spinning. it almost wrecked some dude skiing by but i stomped the three with only one ski so it was all good. afterbanged too of course. gotta have that rideaway looking like "OMGSOSICKSTOMPEDWITHONLYONESKIIM FUCKINGPROOOOO"

I'm pretty cool cuz I ride my din sooo high I'm straight GANGSTA. Then I blew my knee, but I still kept my hood rep up cuz my DIN was sooo high. Sparknotes: Keep your DIN low, ACL's are pretty handy to have.

i stomped this rail switch real hard one time, was leaning on my toes and pop! double eject and my body landed flat on top of my skis and i got 2 fkx heel pieces to the chest and shin...hurt like shit

not me but a friend. he was doing a mute 3 and pulled his ski off when he was tweaking it. his forward pressure was wierd though not his din

My dad and I always check our Dins before we put our skis in the car. This faggot gaper piece of shir kid I used to be friends with was attempting to slide a flat down flat box and launched out after the end flat and his skis popped off. I pissed my pants and told him to tighten his dins.

me friend did that and his went into the woods and hit like... then i went in after it and sank into 6 feet of pow that was hardly touched off trail i t was up to my chest and i couldnt move my arms lolol it was pretty funny so my friend helped me out and we got the ski after like 25 minutes lol

I tore a quarter inch thick metal piece that held my bindings together when I fell in bumps... but I guess thats not really Din, but it was still super crazy..... Thankfully either that piece was weak or my legs/ bones are just super beefed because that would have definatley been a compound fracture the way the fall happened.

i was nosepressing in the lift line and double ejected onto my face. needless to say everyone around me started laughing.

the best is when your water ramping, and your skis come off in mid air, and while spinning, having strings attaching your skis to you is bad news...cant say ive ever been hit harder in the face by anything besides me own skis....

I let my friend use my skis, but he outweighs me 40 or 50 lbs. He started doing nose butters and double ejected and landed on his face.

I went for a butter 5 off of a roller in front of our comp team and both skis popped off slid down the landing on my face and had to walk back up to get them. The were all killing themselves laughing at me lol

i boosted off this jump and got bucked the slightest bit forward, my skis hit tip first kind of but not really that far into the tip just a little off centered forward and i double ejected onto my face.
